I met a guy.  He had very extreme political ideas and seemed to believe in every conspiracy.  I asked him where he learned the things he was saying.  He told me he know of a guy in Germany who was a fantastic source.  Afterward it occured to me that the "guy in Germany" could be anyone, and that it was a pretty dubious kind of source for all his supposed knowledge.  Little by little the guy in Germany became the Random Dude.

Recorded between Yakima and Oslo, That's What Friends Are For is a reflective, bittersweet track about holding on to connection in a world that doesn’t always make sense. Built around a simple, lyric-driven structure, the song blends acoustic guitars with gentle percussion and layered voices. The Choir of Phantoms lends a ghostly warmth, while Melina Oz (vocals), Marius Ihler (bass), and Gunnar Kjellsby (guitars, percussion, mixing, mastering) add texture and depth. There’s sadness here, but also a quiet resilience — a sense that even when “the sparrows... are flying” and things fall apart, some friendships remain.

Dedicated to acoustic alchemy, tonal surrealism, and musical dramaturgy for over two decades, I create compositions where complexity and emotional depth intertwine. My approach is fully experimental, rooted entirely in improvisation yet fitting within predetermined harmonies.

My music is recognised for its expressive guitar playing, intricately woven into a vibrant tapestry of live drums, double bass, keyboards, organ, and harp, all performed on the Seaboard with MPE. In my studio, I bring tracks to life in Logic Pro, carefully engineering each sound to balance sonic clarity with emotional storytelling.

My work stems from the conviction that creative ideas, when thoughtfully cultivated, illuminate paths to truth and deeper understanding of life. My musical explorations reflect both personal discoveries and a collective aspiration toward goodness, spiritual and cultural enrichment of humanity throughout its millennia-long history.
