It's time to step out of the dense fog of days past, tempted by the deeply reverberating siren's call of 'Visions of Clarity', Collate's maiden voyage EP on Upon You. While 'Glossolalia's thumping, heads-down beat locks you into an airtight vacuum from the go, Daniela Rhodes' beguiling vocal slithers soon guide us into a shimmering landscape of dubbed-out synths and craftly placed effects. These are only brought to the fore by label-head Marco Resmann on his 'Re-Edit One'. Here, a chunky metallic groove unspools into an echo-chamber of infinite depth. In contrast, Resmann's 'Re-Edit Two' ups the ante by adding a neon-synth overload to the mix, making for an equally immersive result. On 'Backpfeifengesicht' Collate then strips things down for the after-hour, letting disoriented bleeps tap-dance over a hugely satisfying minimalist framework, reminding us of the early 90s sound-axis between Berlin and the north of England. Lastly, Collate activates the bunker vibes by way of 'Awumbuk', concluding a powerful EP with a viciously moreish bomb. This one's for those bleary-eyed moments we've come to miss so much. Let's enjoy them while we can.

Following on from his 'Tired Voice' EP Reset Robot returns to Poker Flat Recordings with a new three-tracker entitled Duplicate. 

The man behind the moniker is Dave Robertson, Portsmouth based DJ/producer who has been honing his sound for some time - a perfect blend of crafty house music and slick tech vibes. 

With this EP he flaunts a lot of his signature sound - the title track grooves along nicely around a shuffling beat before building and dropping with maximum effect. 

Hyra has a more classic techno feel, the blippy groove compliments a Detroit-eque pad, before the track locks into its main section accompanied by a wobbly synth. 

Service, the third track sits somewhere in between the two - a thick synth bassline and propulsive rhythm track creating a heavy dance-floor heater.

Israeli producer Yotam Avni is back with a fresh cut of uplifting, inspirational dance-floor music, along the same lines as some of the killer cuts he's produced for the likes of Robsoul, Be As One and Osunlade's Yoruba records imprint. Weaving elements of Detroit techno, jacking Chicago house and deep atmospheres, Yotam Avni's productions - either under his own name or pseudonyms - Avadon and Jersey Real Estate - are guaranteed to keep the midnight oil burning, no matter the crowd. It's with this reputation that Ovum Recordings welcomes the passionate producer to it's ever-swelling ranks.

Yotam's debut for Ovum Recordings is of the same quality and ilk that weve come to expect. The title track's original mix is proud and uptight, bursting in with a clipped but swollen kick drum, fat around the edges and deep in it's descent, before a vocal snippet chimes in through a mesh of bass gradually stomping its way into earshot with a gentle canter before those bass tones become a full on wobble and the driving rhythm to the track is notched up on the break, mixing Yotam's trademark uplifting house with galvanized, toughened techno beats. 

On the remix we welcome the Dutch bastion of techno Mr. Steve Rachmad, who delivers a superb rework under his darker and deeper Sterac alias. Jacking, rolling and pumping, his remix focuses on the filters. Dry flanges, acid stabs and filtered analogue synths sit atop a frenetic hi hat for a bass-less but high impact smasher. 

Closing the EP is the intriguingly titled Bbbooy Skat, that runs with a hypnotic, wavering acid synth lines and muted, clipped kick drums - reminiscent of his live looping techniques when Djing - before igniting into progressively building techno roller, adding elements of percussion atmosphere and melody, never once shifting focus from that hypno-top line. A subdued but effective midnight roller that offers an endless conclusion to another triumphant set from the Ovum Recordings crew.

The annual dance music gathering that is the Winter Music Conference Miami is just around the corner, and Get Physical are ready to take it by storm with a special selection of tracks that welcome in the warmer months. The fantastic Miami 2018 is mixed by Dubspeeka, and features two exclusive tracks as well as plenty of gold from key label associates.

Bristolian Dubspeeka’s shadowy techno sounds roam through the underground here with his DJ skills making this a compelling mix from start to finish, punctuated with his own essential tracks.

The mix wastes no time in getting down to business, with a driving house remix from Steve Rachmad setting a seductive tone. South African label star Floyd Lavine’s remix of Thor Rixon then sends shivers down the spine with its spacious grooves, and Dubspeeka appears with his first contribution, a gritty and stripped back version of Andre Salata’s ‘Symbols.’

Three more standout Dubspeeka cuts define the mid-section and keep things heads down and moody, with dubby chords, molten melodies and zoned out pads sinking you into a state of hypnosis. One of them is the exclusive ‘Keys427’, an evocative and cinematic track with supple drums rolling beneath plaintive chords.

House master Ian Pooley keeps up the seductive vibe with his dreamy house remix, Massimiliano Pagliara reworks an Alessio Pagliaroli cut into a deep, ethereal vocal cut and then Dubspeeka rounds things out with the second exclusive, the gorgeously smooth and atmospheric ‘Land And Sea.’

This is another essential compilation from Get Physical that sets the agenda for Miami 2018.

It is the year 2007.

Electronic music is more popular than ever, especially TechHouse is on a thriving uprise and Berlin already became the buzzing nightlife capital of the world it is known as today.

Amidst all these creative and musical vibes a new label is born -  Upon.You Records. Founded in February 2007 by DJ & producer Marco Resmann, with a first release under his moniker Phage on Martin Landsky's Intim Recordings as well as great success as one half of the infamous project Luna City Express under his belt, and electronic music veteran Hawks Grunert, formerly involved in running Timing Recordings with Tanith as well as working for legendary „Frontpage“ magazine, Upon.You Records was already widely recognized for its first release, Phage's „Vut & Vat EP“, and started to drive on the fast lane immediately.

Originally intended to be a platform for music from an inner circle of friends as well as for aspiring young talent it didn't take long until the label branched out in 2008 with first international signings,  various label tours all over the place and a first label compilation.

In 2009, after receiving massive support from nightlife heavyweights like Steve Bug, Brothers Vibe, Someone Else and many more, a cover story in German electronic music magazine GROOVE and with a catalogue of roughly twenty 12“ releases Upon.You launched two subdivisions - Upon.You Digital and the momentary Upon.You Sweet & Sour Series – and established a booking agency as well as regular label events at two of Berlin's most praised venues, Watergate Club and the infamous Panoramabar.

Furthermore Upon.You Records teamed up with Workaholics Berlin for the launch of a merchandising line in 2009, introducing the labels unique visual image to the world of street fashion.

With the launch of the annual label retro- / futurespective „Upon.You Diary“ and an expanded core artist family now including Marco Resmann, Martin Landsky, ONNO, Ruede Hagelstein, Gunnar Stiller, Magit Cacoon and The Cheapers alongside many others, 2010 finally paved the way for success and fruitful growth to come in consecutive years in which Upon.You became one of the leading labels in all things TechHouse and related.

And it was even the first issue „Upon.You Diary“ that awed the electronic world with Marco Resmann's widely praised tune „This Song“, immediately ruling every dancefloor after it was released and drawing even more attenttion towards the Berlin-based label which continued to expand its growing international network whilst signing releases by Quenum, Kink or the UK-based longtime ambassador Steve Lawler.

On a jam-packed schedule of about twenty releases per year lately, including Ruede Hagelstein's Beatport smash „Minus“, with label artists touring the globe frequently and armed with the brand new, 2014-launched UYX subdivision focusing on raw TechHouse and classic stamped whitelabel aesthetics, Upon.You has grown into a major force on the international electronic music circuit.

Always on the lookout for new talent and keen to explore new territories, the future looks brighter than ever for Upon.You after entering the longplay circuit with the widely acknowledged album debut of the former Tel Aviv- and now Berlin-based DJ / producer Magit Cacoon, another successful instalment of the „Upon.You Diary“-series and finally entering three digit realms with the release of Marco Resmann's extrordinary gold vinyl 12“  „100“ - the onehundredth Upon.You single release in the label history which was released in late 2015.

And things surely are about to be busier than ever for all members of the Upon.You camp over the course of 2016, celebrating the labels 8th anniversary with a dedicated series of label events all over Europe and special showcases at Sonar / Barcelona as well as ADE and, of course, a string of high quality releases for maximum dancefloor pleasure throughout this season and beyond. Watch out.
