A greenshank in the swamp´s fog reminds me of a grey sunday afternoon.

Rather than follow the traditional path for this classic Christmas song we decided to change the words just a bit so the story is quicker paced than usual and told in the present tense. The message is eternal and unchanging and we hope our acoustic folk version will express it as well as any other version has for generations. Wishing everyone a very joyful Christmas 2022!

Well i wrote this song for the Rolling Stones if they should ever get around to listening to it,  i have always been a big fan so i decided to mix a bit of Gospel, a bit of Blues and Hey presto a new song for Mick and Keith. In true Keith Richard tradition i took my Bass E string off and tuned the guitar to key of G. The main guitar is the Bridge pick up on the Les Paul giving a nice rounded sound and the lead is the bridge pick up more giving a more trebly and cutting through the mix a bit. No processing all clean as they sound. My vocals have a bit of Saturation and distortion and Compression to give me that bluesy sound, hope you'll like it and Mick & Keith if your out there let me know how i did..

Introduction in English:

A good thirty years ago I had a partner who had strict Catholic parents. She had four brothers who married in the strict Catholic spirit during the time we were together. 
I loved the free, unbridled, wild dancing at that time. But at those weddings, any passion was contained in a rigid religious call-and-dance ceremonial.   
My "salvation" was Bosza, a Croatian woman overflowing with warmth, cordiality and impetuous liveliness. She was the wife of my then partner's uncle, who himself had fled to Berlin decades ago from the all-suppressing Catholic morality.
And with Bosza I danced half the night away at the weddings. Most people hated us for it. But we were passionate soul mates.
After I separated from my former partner, I lost sight of Bosza for the last ten years. 
Until I received a year ago over a brother of my ex-partner by WhatsApp the message that Bosza had died with not even seventy years. 
When I received this news, I had to cry spontaneously. And out of this sadness, but also out of gratitude for the great living time together at the otherwise dead weddings, this tribute to this wonderful woman was created. A woman who burned from both ends of the candle, and like most who do, do not grow very old.

Dan-t's release of our collaboration on Easter Sunday had special meaning for me;  Easter is the authoritative testimony of light overcoming darkness. It also symbolized the passing of a very close friend as she "stepped into the light"  Tuesday before Easter Sunday.  Bonnie's sudden passing was unexpected to her family and closest friends, but not to her.  She had given intimations of it weeks before, but we could not grasp it. 
Dan's music is very special in its ambient beauty always expressing what spoken language cannot.  In constructing the guitar parts for it, recording, and editing as needed, I must have listened to the track dozens of times, but never grew fatigued with it.  Hopefully with just one listen, you'll understand:) More of the lovely French Fantasy can be heard @dan-t-3

By means of some weather sounds, I oppose precise dark parts to more colored ones, with serious work till 3:25 when I had fun jamming, so you can skip to 4:20 & enjoy great outro !!

Clarinet was borrowed from my sister for summer practice. Reed & keywork managing is difficult for a beginner, & home cohabitance was set on serious risk, but with painful effort I got something presentable, or so I hope, as not willing to repeat soon...
