Picture spectral rays of light darting around a huge warehouse space in a way you suspect subatomic particles might - sporadically changing shape, bursting with colour and full of dynamism - could also be said for the music of Yu Miyashita.

Performing as Yaporigami for A NEW WAVE the Berlin-based artist has been something of a revelation since discovering his label The Collection Artaud, a super massive independent back catalogue of radical sound design, and home to Yaporimagi and other Miyashita aliases.

With the artist’s foremost production skills also drifting into sync, video editing and soundtrack work, Yaporigami, albeit @underarram in general, gives rise to a truly innovative and boundary-breaking approach to the creation of sonic and visual art.

There are artists for which the musical act is both a deep dive into the memory of a buried culture and a celebration of the spirits who have kept its secrets. Jorge REYES is one of them. A true memorialist of Mexican traditions that now belong to the realm of the shadows, Jorge does not dissociate his music from his initiatory quest. His stage performances, which resemble shamanic rituals, blend electronic and ethnic instruments that instantly throw us into the world of nature's spirits. Also collaborating with Steve Roach and Suso Saiz on Suspended Memories, his discography runs from the late 80s until his death in 2009. Izuran pays tribute to this outstanding musician, who inspired and accompanied him on his trip to Mexico, and invites us to connect our inner selves to the spirits and hidden treasures of this world.

"The temptation to play pure ambient non-stop for an hour and a half was big, but considering that the whole event was more or less about that for the whole day, I decided to focus on a more rhythmic approach. An opportunity to play slow and hypnotic rhythms, far from the dancefloor "pressure" and logic, leaving room for the unexpected. It was also a chance to listen to some of my personal favorites on the Espacio Perpendicular's fantastic sound system and share them with the people there. I enjoyed it a lot, I felt 100% free to do whatever I wanted... and the Temple audience was awesome!"
