I started cool
You lit a fire.
When I burned

I started low
You pushed me higher.
When I lost grip
You crawled away.

I started slowly
You came to chase me.
When I gave up
You pulled the brake.

Our feelings grew
You hid behind wire
And I got hurt
Crossing the fence.

My loved one don’t
Think of the future.

It’ll never be.

All our lifes
Are made of moments.
They’re here and now
Each day anew.

All our plans
For the future
Are made of dreams
No dreams come true.

Then it turned the tide
And I lost interest.
I wanted life
Not chase and flight.

And I broke up
I broke off contact.
Then you woke up
And faced the fact.

You said "It makes no sense
To commit suicide
Out of fear
You might one day die.

And let’s start living
Here and now
Each day anew."

Now we walk these streets
Each day together
Neither fast nor slow
But at the same pace.
