I composed this piece for my final Electroacoustic University Project, which I had the pleasure of performing in front of a live audience whilst using 8 channel diffusion in the concert hall. It's not perfect - there are still pops and clicks that I couldn't remove before the deadline, but I've decided to upload as is.

I’ve always had trouble sleeping, whether that be getting to sleep or disruptions during. I have vague memories of waking up, standing in a different part of the house or I get recounts of what my other self was talking about during my sleep. This piece, named after the Celtic Goddess of dreams and sleep, shows how sleeping feels to me - nodding off, taking pills and waiting for them to kick in, dreaming, deeper sleep, paralysis fits, light dreaming then waking up to morning sounds.

I recorded piano sounds, reflecting my personal instrument and something that I often dream about, along with a melodica, amp contact noises and a bottle of sleeping pills. This piece is not meant to sound eerie – it represents a balance between conscious and unconscious memories. In my live performance, I used my MAX patch over specific parts, which tracked my visuals and outputted either ‘go to sleep’ or ‘wake up’ (I have added it to this upload). Enjoy with headphones!!

Kids With Guns is a song featured on Demon Days as the third track.

It was released on 10 April 2006 in the UK as double A-side with "El Mañana" as the fourth and final single from the album. Unlike its Top 10 predecessors from Demon Days, "Kids With Guns"/"El Mañana" reached #27 upon its release in the UK. It features Neneh Cherry on guest vocals.
