It seems that there's no stopping Astral Haze, who returns with yet more intricate atmospheric beats. Number Six starts the EP with discreet techno and acid influences that hook the listener in as they bob and weave around the rolling breaks. Magicman changes the vibe to a more frenetic dub and oldskool tinged affair with bleepy melodics, chopped rhythms as more acid notes envelope the listener. Synthetic Symphony sees Astral Haze tune into a frequency from deep space as experimental tones face off with light celestial jazz to create something unique before Forgotten Frequency introduces its dreamy pads and synths that are complimented by rolling amens and chopped jungle breaks. The EP ends with Eschaton's own take on the sublime Devil Ether with evolving electro-tinged elements, floating pads and stepping beats.

Back at Planet Wax for Influences 2nd in-store event of the year where I played a selection of old and new tunes on vinyl that bring you that Influences vibe you may have now got accustomed to. If you are unfamiliar, the event is about highlighting the elements of Reggae, Soul, R&B, Rap, Jazz, Funk and Rare Groove used in Jungle as it used to be back in the day.

Filthy, half-time tunes moving from strength to strength, upfront, sharp rollers, and then you get a brief respite about halfway through, then more heat with a smattering of amens, drumfunk, and upfront rollers! The track selection is top!! A beautiful, patient intensity to this mix from Ronin Selecta!
