Out of all of the poetry I have written over many years, this one is my father’s favourite.

Last year I visited him in NZ – the first time I’d seen him in real life for over 3 years! We set up “Pillow Studios” and I recorded him reading it.
 
This is the audio version of “My Grandad’s Ashtray” – sound-designed by Dave Hunter and voiced by my Dad Peter Burton who always encouraged my creativity and who cheer-led me to my very first job in radio.

This project has inspired my goal to produce a selection of these poetic stories for audio platforms. I look forward to sharing them.
