Shateish has paired her commanding powerful vocals with Grammy award music producer Nottz vehement beats to conceive a unique and dynamic Hip-Hop Blues vibe on her introductory E.P. Throughout her vocation, she has been featured on several Nottz underground classic productions that add to her discography including such songs as "Still Here" by Scarface, "Bloody Moon" by The Game, ”How Many Tears?” by Nottz presents: DMP featuring Pusha-T and “Truth” by Blu & Nottz, Shateish decided to step into the past on this EP to bring back a Unforgotten legendary whom music never saw the limelight in the late 60s and 70s, Ruby Johnson was a fervent R&B singer from North Carolina and Virginia border that was once sign to Stax/Volt Records, the label in-house producers was unable to achieve a breakout hit single to match Ruby Johnson supreme vocal during the rise of the soul era which ultimately led to her release from the label roster. Shateish feel in her heart that Ruby unfinished sound deserved to be heard with the most highly respect. Therefore Shateish have decided to dedicated The Re-Awakening EP to the late Ruby Johnson.

“Black Woman” is the powerful, lyrically-rich focus track off Nottz’s upcoming project, ‘The Future is Female,’ that pairs producers with an all-star cast of female emcees and vocalists. Denver rapper Donnie Raven makes his debut in a major way with “Rainin’,” a straight-up lyrical showcase featuring a guest verse from wordplay assassin Elzhi, with production supplied by your favorite producer’s favorite producer…Nottz Raw!

It may be his first single ever—and it stems from his upcoming 'Livelihood' EP—but Raven sounds as put-together and confident as someone who’s been doing this for years. That could be because he cut his teeth as a freestyle champion in his high school years. Singing since the age of five, R&B/Soul singer Shateish, from Portsmouth, Virginia joined her mother's gospel group, 'Evangelist Brinkley and The Gospel Pearls', at the age of eight and continued singing with them until the age of 18, when she decided to leave and pursue a future as an R&B artist. Her mother was her greatest influence, 'she taught me everything I know right now, she taught me to always be myself when I sing, always feel it, always be humble', with her other great influence being Tina Turner, 'I love some Tina Turner. I love her music, I wish one day I could meet her and just do one song with her'. Other influences include Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight ’all the people that bring that soul', and she hopes with her music to 'touch people, I want people to feel me, I want to write and make music where I know what other people are going through, I can relate to it...I'm just giving them something that they need to be healed, or, you know, or just to make it through the day'. In 2008 she was interduce to producer Nottz who’s featured her on the Scarface track 'Still Here' from the 'Emeritus' album, and 2012 she flips an Etta James-inspired classic into a updated tribute called “I’m Leaving” produced by Nottz. Also sang on the hook on The Game “Bloody Moon” track from ‘The Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf’ and Blu & Nottz song “Truth” from the ‘Titans in the Flesh’ EP.
