I often wonder what people are talking about when they write the usual "love" song: my love is higher than a mountain/deeper than a sea/Iit will last forever ( then they add a day. great line John Prine!!)
I really think these songs do a disservice to love and confuse the inexperienced as to what to expect.
Relationships are not easy. Love at first sight is usually more physical than not and so is fragile . 
Respect/devotion/selflessness to some extent are all needed among other difficult traits to make a relationship ( ie love) last through time

LETTING GO

So I LOVE Middle Eastern mythology and history. This story is about a beautiful Egyptian princess named Amirah. She is as kind and graceful and selfless as she is beautiful.  A true pearl of the Nile! She loves her kingdom and her people.. But a dark time has fallen on her beloved country a year long drought has decimated the crops and left animals barren. So to save her people, Amirah must marry a Sheikh from a distant land...  While he is neither  handsome nor kind, he has  wanted her for himself..  his precious jewel... so he makes a deal with Amirah's father to marry her in exchange provide  crops and  supplies to the people of Egypt to weather the  drought. With a heavy heart,  our selfless heroine knows what she must do...  this... is her contemplation before her wedding day...  in song....  enjoy :) :P
