There was one incredibly special gig I played when I was 14 years old that completely changed my outlook on music. It was my band’s album release show, and there was this intoxicating feeling of hearing the lyrics to songs we wrote being screamed back at us from the darkness of the sold out hall. Looking back on it now, it is, without a doubt, the single most important experience I have to look back on as a musician. It not only serves as a reminder of how wonderfully fulfilling the experience of making music can be, but it sets the bar for the specific feeling I hope to pass on to everyone who chooses to make music with me.

Chasing this wonderful experience has defined my career path. It’s pushed me to get a degree in music and to try my hand at every musical situation I possibly could in a never-ending search for new challenges and inspirations. My journey as a musician has taken me across a large portion of the country as well as the world abroad; into enormous sold out halls alongside the most intimate clubs. I put my all into everything that I do, and approach every project I engage in from the perspective of the listener, focusing on making creative choices that suit the music, above all else.

Deep Cartel is the Live Deep House alias, run by Maurice Machi. Founded by Sibusiso Malinga and Maurice Machi inJohannesburg in 2011, Maurice Machi has completed studying for his Sound Engineering diploma at the Academy of Sound Engineering, while KvK has completed a Psychology degree at the University of Johannesburg. 

Deep Cartel SA carries the weight of three successful bangers known as Sunrise, Winter Sun and, more recently, In Too Deep featuring Mandy. On top of producing their own compositions where they feature singers of their choosing, they are also involved with many remix projects. They caught the attention of a label based in the UK entitled Peng Africa Records, and since the signing of a licencing deal with the company, they have been busy working with Peng Africa on a few remix projects. Just recently, their single In Too Deep feat. Mandy was released under a compilation entitled “Dance Africa”. They have also been involved in two EPs which were released during the December 2014 period: I Am X – Beautiful Creation [Deep Cartel’s Dark Emotion Remix] (Donda Recordings) and Brazilian Soul Crew feat. Holi – Afflicted [Deep Cartel’s Ocean Soul Mix] (Peng Africa). All releases are available online for purchase at Traxsource.com.

One of their greatest achievements to date is having a feature on YFM’s LiveNReYired show where their live performance was broadcast live across the Gauteng province. It was then that they could showcase what they were all about, performing their own compositions and fusing them with known and unknown songs that they performed in between their productions.

The live set they play is mainly a deep, jazzy and soulful set whereby Maurice Machi would DJ and add special effects on the decks while allowing the trumpet and the keyboard to take over, complimenting the track being played. A Deep Cartel set ensures that a good time is had by all.

Kyle Rightley is a Madison-based performer, songwriter, and educator. He has built a career out of a wide variety of musical interests and genres spanning rock, pop, folk, classical, jazz, soul, and funk.

Kyle enjoys an active career as a gigging musician. In addition to his solo exploits, he contributes as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and arranger to award-winning groups The Big Payback and Driveway Thriftdwellers. His trombone and euphonium playing is featured in Five Points Jazz Collective, Charlie Painter and Friends, Beefus, Capitol City Band, and other area ensembles.

Kyle was a finalist in the Madison Area Music Awards (MAMAs) for best country/bluegrass performer in 2015. Previously, two of his songs have been MAMA finalists: "Romeo Knows" in 2014 and “Jackal in a Suit” in 2012.

A native of Colorado, Kyle received his bachelor of music degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2007. He relocated to Madison where he earned a masters degree in euphonium performance from the University of Wisconsin in 2009. Kyle currently teaches at Prairie Music and Arts and privately in the Madison area.
 
Kyle is always thrilled to work on new music. Between The Big Payback, Driveway Thriftdwellers, and Beefus, he will be involved in no fewer than 4 full-length albums of original material to be released in 2016! In addition to that, he is currently compiling songs for an upcoming solo acoustic record. 

Cristina Rossi, aka Miss Criss, bought her turntables in the 2002 and started playing techno music on vinyl. After a lot of practice at home, in 2003 she had her debut at SESTO SENSO ( now called EL DIVINO ) in Naples. On May 1st 2004 Miss Criss played for the first time at the Old River Park, a club of international fame where world's most famous techno djs  and producers have played. Until 2008 she performed in small clubs and community centers in Campania, Italy. Then she started attending  DNB parties organized by 2Step Crew ( Naples ). In 2009 Miss Criss moved to London where she inevitably met drum and bass music and got totally fascinated by it. For this reason she started buying drum and bass vinyls and playing drum and bass music. When she came back in Italy she decided to promote and spread out drum and bass music in her country! In 2011 she has become an integral part of the Radiossina staff ( Radiossina is a web radio, born on March 7th , 2008 in the Social Laboratory Millepiani, Caserta ).  At the end of 2011 she created BASSINA, a program that is currently on air and featuring both the drum and bass  music and dubstep music. You can listen to it every Monday from 23.00 to 00.00 on www.radiossina.info . The staff is made by 8 girls and each of those is very important for BASSINA.  Miss Criss is a member of PINK NOIZE, an event fully realized by girls, created 4 years ago to enhance and  promote woman's role behind the console.
In 2011 Dj Miss Criss and Bassina Crew joins forces with Askyourself for the promotion of the Outlook Festival  Launch party at the Old River Park in Caserta. 
 In 2012, Askyourself and Bassina organize Naples's Outlook Launch Party,  specifically managing the Drum 'n Bass stage.  The same year Criss debuts at Outlook Festival in Croatia .
In 2013 Miss Criss earns her degree as a Sound Engineer / Studio Recordings , at the Music Lab in Tourin (Italy)  .  After she was able to access the school through a scholarship. After that she attends a worshop for Mastering, hosted by Yamaha and Steinberg at the Saint Louis College of Music, Rome. 
In the Spring of 2013 , Miss Criss plays at Sonica Festival , Wins the Dj Contest for Campart Festival  (where she will perform with Dj V3A), 
and she returns to play for the second year in Outlook Festival, Croatia .
Right now Miss Criss is working hard on music production and just started a new musical project called BED BUGS along with sound engineer , producer and sound designer ATOMIK TAGS ( Native Instruments -Pro-sounds- Loopmasters).
Miss Criss plays now in many clubs in Italy. The Bed Bugs project brings Miss Criss in The Uk ..playing along side with Crissy Criss and Grooverider.

Rob Anderson currently lives in Chandler Arizona with his wife and two children. Rob started playing guitar when he was fifteen years old and has enjoyed playing for thirty-six years now. Rob has played in well over twenty bands of various genres over the years and currently enjoys playing in the New Life Family Church worship band in Gilbert Az. 

As technology has changed and the advent of computer recording has developed, Rob took the opportunity to become his own composer, production artist and studio engineer, compiling over eighty songs from his home studios. As a studio musician Rob is adept at playing bass guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, midi guitar, keyboard synth, and programming drums as well as other types of electronic sound inputs. 

While his strong suit is the electric guitar, acoustic guitar and bass are instruments he loves to use to create and experiment with. Using a Mac, Digi003 DAW, Boss FX pedals, Protools, Garageband, Reason, Logic and his favorite axe, Rob has developed a unique sound that compares with the likes of Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani and Greg Howe. His main goal as a musician is to pass on what he has learned to his children and enjoy the satisfaction of sharing his music with others. 

Rob’s style is decidedly blues based with a bent towards jazz fusion as well as funk with a rock beat. A well versed self taught musician who tends to get so wrapped up in his music as to forget to take a breath once in a while. Rob says, “I’ve spent so much time developing speedy chops that it’s hard to slow down and give a song room to breath.” One of his many goals is to continue to learn how to develop better melodic ideas with tasty hooks and memorable phrases. 

Currently Rob is in final production of several albums under the name MBCO (aka: MoreBobbert) and can be found on ReverbNation, SoundCloud, Last.FM, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo and just about any social site worth mentioning.

2012 I earned the best acoustic guitar award on musicianswar.com as well as most wins in competition that year. I've been playing guitar for 36 years now and never broke a string? Self taught guitarist, composer, producer, audio engineer, promoter, distributor and Mac Guru.

Guitartist, Media Composer, Singer/Song Writer & Conductor. PRS & MU registered musician with extensive performance and recording experience. Masters Degree qualified Film & Television Composer as well as a trained Choral & Orchestral Conductor. 

As a Media Composer I am mainly inspired by the work of John Barry, Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, Klaus Doldinger, James Honer and Jerry Goldsmith, preferring to combine electronic, orchestral and rock instruments with radio-phonics and sound design. I like to be flexible in what I write for, being happy to adjust my composing style to suit specific needs. My favourite genres to write for are Science Fiction, Film Noir, Thrillers, Romance and Adventure.    

As a Guitarist and Singer/Song Writer, which is what I started out as and still do, I am influenced by players like Brian May, Steve Lukather, David Gilmore, Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen and many more. My favourite styles of music are Progressive Rock, Blues, Hard Rock and Fusion, enjoying the work of bands like Queen, Rush, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Toto and Led Zeppelin, to name just a few.
