Listen to "mistermark" on Soundcloud. He has recorded some very cool and groovy tracks.When I heard this track on Soundclouds Jazz playlist I messaged mistermark and asked permission to attempt to add my guitar inspiration in the mix and he very graciously said okay. I laid in a comping chord track and a lead guitar track and attempted to maintain the melody I heard in there. I used a stereo chorus effect on this particular mixdown.

Listening to Mistermark playing his solo piano brought back memories of my Mom playing piano even though his piano solo needs no help whatsoever I asked if I could try something with it.
I added a drummer, bass player and a guitar player for a piano with combo idea No guitar solos to invade his wonderful piano melody just accompaniment. I hope it is still pleasing to one's ears.

A New Nostalgia

Another Funky/ Reggae track .The Groove was created by Mistermark who came up with the Bass, drums. organ , percussion and horn sounds. In itself it is a mesmerizing rhythm track that stands on its own nerits.  But,  being a guitarist, when I hear an infectious rhythm like this I want to grab my guitar and join the band. I added a rhythm guitar comping throughout and  then drifted a lead guitar in and out so as to allow the cool stuff of the basic track to shine through and not be lost.

Sneaky Reggae

I asked The West Street Band if I could add some guitar tracks to their Coconut Grove. I liked the vibe they had going on and just felt like seeing what what would come when I improvised something over that. They Graciously said I could and I thank them for giving me inspiration to give it a go. This is the first take I did on this and like a good beef dinner it made me crave some more so I will post Take Two as well which I did a couple days later. It is funny how you play what you feel one day and a couple days later you play with a different feeling while hearing the same backing track

Coconut Groove Take One

A couple days after my first improvisation over The West Street Band"s Coconut Grove. I just heard something different and improvised some  new idea. A good groove will do that to you and you  will seldom play the same thing twice .I want to thank The West Street Band for allowing me to have some fun with this and hope they like what I came up with.

This tune was written and recorded by Duane Eddy and Ry Cooder ang featured on Duane's Album Twang Thang. When I heard Mats Celind (Sweden) cover this tune I liked the way he played it and asked if he would mind if I played along with him and put a duet version out in the cloud .He graciously said " go for it"

Before I deleted Mistermarks New Bossa Nova drum track with my guitar tracks added I figured I would listen to those various takes I did and do another remix before deleting it from my mixer just to see what else it could be like. I thought it sounded a bit nervous, Hence the title.

Luceole posted a track "Open for collab"(singer welcome) I told him I do not consider myself a singer even though I have sung songs in my own Stream on the Cloud, but I do like to come up with Guitar instrumentals over groovy tracks that I discover . So I asked if he would mind me trying something on this track he apparently originally titled "Wannabe Your Lover" Because Luc and I  are just getting to meet via Soundcloud, he in France and me in Canada I decided we were Cloud Jamming. His uptempo backing track mix is catchy and inspiring to play over .I really enjoyed this and want to thank Luceole for allowing me to do this. I really hope he will like what happened to his initial creation and I also would love to hear someone do a song to this.Maybe someone like Janne Henne could do justice to this infectious track.

A day after I improvised Rhythmicity with Sergio Parraga . I revisited his backing and had a new inspiration. Just felt a little more funky and G minor bluesy jazzy and I came up with something quite different even though Sergio `s track of Conga and Bass was the same. This is the magic of music and improvisation .With Sergio in Spain and me in Western Canada I thought that thanks to Soundcloud this is really a Small Funky World

Hi Lo

Fell in love with Guitar sounds since I first heard Duane Eddy twanging out Rebel Rouser. Then I heard  Chet Atkins Hi Fi in Focus album. This was back around 1960.Me and my brother Cliff got guitars as soon as we could and started learning ourselves to play some tunes. Now about 60 years later I am still loving it. I lost Cliff last year but his jazz loving influence is still present in my playing. You can just never stop learning new stuff and ways of playing when you love the sound a guitar makes. My son Bryce also fell in love with guitar and he also is a fine singer. Il be also posting some songs that have been able play along with him.I  just hope there are people who will enjoy the music I play and post, thankyou Al Gibbs
