 This is a song that Chris wrote on the drums, bass, and guitar and shared with the collective. We all love working on Chris's songs, and got to work on it even more enthusiastically than usual. Josh was up first with his lap steel, which he weaves throughout. He also added the sitar at the beginning and the acoustic sitar at the end. Stephen stepped in and added the gnarly electric sitar at the end. JJ also made his presence heard by adding the thrilling organ and electric piano throughout. Ken then augmented Chris's original drums with his own in expert fashion. Last, but not least, Tez added his electric guitat magic to the stew, as well. 
  Since Chris brought this song to the group, and is a fine producer, he did the honors of the mix and production. 
  This is our latest with Chris, whose music we all adore. If you dig this, you should go check out his page, as it contains lots of wonders to hear. We all hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

New String Theory - The Eclectic Collective

This song was written in 2007 and is another of my space videos with a ghostly twist. I wrote it as a kind of Halloween ghost in space thing. Charlie sang it very well and I tried to play a very melodic Bass on it, like Chris Squire from Yes. This is a favorite of my wife, she really loves it and I like it a lot as well. I made the video just before I left for vacation about 3 weeks ago. The video turned out really good and I threw in plenty of space eye-candy for everyone to enjoy. Watch the video for the full irony of it all! It's a twisted irony to be a ghost in the machine! This is my #2 video for Halloween 2024 and not very creepy at all. Basically it'a about an astronaut that misses the earth, his wife, his kids, and is stranded on another planet where he dies but his ghost is still floating around lost forever in space, kind of a revamped Space Oddity from David Bowie! This is another track in my work-in-progress album "Sleep, My Boy" (2024), to appear by the end of this year. In it, my idea is to collect only this and another already released track, "Sleep, My Boy", but each of them will have a full, electro-symphonic version as well as acoustic versions.

The track was composed in GarageBand iOS spontaneously in the early morning of 19 September 2024 and mixed and arranged in Logic Pro on 29 September 2024. It was released here on SoundCloud on 19 October 2024.

The composition was inspired by my recently-born gorgeous grandson, while he was far away from me for long, travelling with his family. Apart from this electro-symphonic version, it also has 3 "acoustic" versions - the initial one for piano and the subsequent ones, respectively, for strings and for synthesisers: I intend to post these versions too as tracks coming later in the same album.

The artwork cover for the track as well as for the album uses a photo I took on 3 July 2024 that I cropped and annotated in Mac OS Preview on 17 August 2024.
