This song was written in 2007 and is another of my space videos with a ghostly twist. I wrote it as a kind of Halloween ghost in space thing. Charlie sang it very well and I tried to play a very melodic Bass on it, like Chris Squire from Yes. This is a favorite of my wife, she really loves it and I like it a lot as well. I made the video just before I left for vacation about 3 weeks ago. The video turned out really good and I threw in plenty of space eye-candy for everyone to enjoy. Watch the video for the full irony of it all! It's a twisted irony to be a ghost in the machine! This is my #2 video for Halloween 2024 and not very creepy at all. Basically it'a about an astronaut that misses the earth, his wife, his kids, and is stranded on another planet where he dies but his ghost is still floating around lost forever in space, kind of a revamped Space Oddity from David Bowie! I'm Antonio Porrino (Tonino).
Graduated in Physics in March 1979, I was Researcher in Theoretical Nuclear Physics at the "Federico II" University of Naples until November 2019.
I studied music, initially at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Maiella in Naples and then self-taught piano, organ and composition.
I have been married to Anna since July 1982 and we have 5 children, Fabio, Luca, Francesca, Cecilia, Vincenzo and 3 grandchildren, Antonio, Sofia and Vincenzo, Fabio's children, married to Sara.
I founded the polyphonic choir "Vicus Novanensis" in 1992 and in 2019 "I Cantori di Maria", which have collected the legacy of the numerous "long distance adoptions" of the previous choir.
The musical activity takes place mainly at the "Pontifical Minor Basilica of Maria Santissima Assunta" in Santa Maria a Vico (Italy).
I have composed music of various genres.
My music would like to express and transmit feelings of peace, serenity and joy, contrasting those of war, hatred and oppression that seem to prevail on planet Earth, causing the degradation of the natural environment that guards us.

Today I checked out the BuzzFeeds. I began with "Metal" and out of 5 tracks 4 were 100% AI created. All had tens of thousands of plays.  This is what I've been spending my time and money on, a chance to get better at my art only to have fake artists spend 5 minutes making fake music that Soundcloud puts above real artists real blood and sweat? There needs to be a music platform that only caters to real artists, you know, like SC used to.  This is not what I want to waste my time with any longer, maybe if enough real humans felt the same they would actually do what they said they'd do at the beginning rather than make their loyal artists secondary to extra profits by allowing fake music and showing us where we lie in value to them.

I set the words to chords on piano. Kind of singing along. I recorded the Casio electric piano, then my sawed-body Austin bass guitar, both plugged in directly. Bass played with a pick. (a square corner of my old driver's license)

The organ pretty much follows the piano chords. Two different organ sounds were used for each song on The Black Cat Record. The same Casio.

Vocals. I recorded one, then muted it and recorded another. So that the second vocal wouldn't be an imitation. One vocal is only on the left, and the other is only on the right. 

I recorded electric guitar plugged into a Blackstar amp, direct-in. Same pick used. I had a Lyon Disturbed signature guitar with a kill switch for The Black Cat Record, and a Squire with a whammy bar for Hex. Rhythm guitar was usually done twice, and only on the left or right, like the vocals. I like to think the left headphone is a slightly different album than the right.  Microphone used: Shure SM57.
