This is one of my first experiments with the amazing Famitracker, a sound tracker made for creating NES/Famicom music.
Very useful and funny to create Videogames music but also for reinterpret every genre of music.

I've been loving Queen since my childhood, and I totally go crazy for Brian May's overlapping guitar style. "Procession" is one of the most amazing album intros ever. So this is my "chiptune tribute" to one of the greatest bands in the multiverse.

I like this song solely because it is in an odd time signature; 10/8 is pretty strange but it does sound hella good.

Despite this being able to run on almost any YM2413, I made this using the Famicom's VRC7 chip, which is a trimmed-down YM2413, which itself is a cost-reduced YM3812. Crazy, huh.

Created this in FamiTracker via the VCR6 module, and within the span of around 4-6 hours during school and at home instead of doing homework. Most of my other covers I've published have been of older pop songs from the 50s-90s, so it was interesting to take a shot at a more contemporary- no less really fun doing one of my favorite songs from the past year. I decided to try some new stuff with this one– particularly using custom-made DPCM samples for the "I'm the baaaaad guy... Duh!" part. I also made a bit of a bold move and decided to use the triangle section for the main melody in the chorus instead of the bass part like it's usually used for, which I think paid off surprisingly in the end. This was a fun cover to work on, and I'm proud of how clean-sounding it ultimately turned out. I know I probably think this about every latest chiptune remix I make, but I'd have to consider this my best, or at least one of my best covers I've made in the past 2 or so years.
