Unbalanced

A track describing an encounter with a colony of seals on the Cleveland Way coastal walk.  Our attention was first drawn to them by the sound echoing about the bay.

A poem based on an  Instagram prompt for trains and mystical events.    I riffed on the eighties classic "under your Thumb" by Godley and Creme.

Plaything

Caustic, intoxicating,
that passion, the fire within,
not ephemeral, a living thing, 
pleasure and suffering,
constantly striving, proving,
with that backlash, worrying, 
am I all that I could be,
never feeling stability,
on a knife edge of sanity,
careless with my mortality,
but enthused with the subtlety
of life in its complexity
juxtaposed joy and solemnity,
lie, cheat, steal, don't be a non-entity,
fight for your right to reality,
and feel the heat from the flames,
ignore those toxic claims,
of others and from your sublimity 
allow yourself to live, be free.
