In hindsight, all breakups are for the benefit of self and spiritual growth. The pain of those breakups somehow linger longer than the feelings ever did, and as a poet, I tend to capitalize on the memories I ruminate on. I wrote this song when I wasn't ready to let go of the feelings of heartbreak quite yet. It had been a staple of who I had been for years, and change is always hard. So this was me, calling myself out and burying the hatchet I had used on myself for too long.
