Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 8 March: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch398

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

While deeply immersed in Hip Hop culture, breakdancing in particular, Teodross Avery heard John Coltrane’s ‘Giant Steps’ and quickly switched from pop-locking to the saxophone.

After moving to New York City he performed and/or recorded with artists such as Amy Winehouse, The Roots (The Jimmy Fallon show), Masters At Work, Lauryn Hill, and Mos Def & Talib Kweli (Blackstar).

His new album, Life And Musik, is a fusion of Hip Hop, Soul, uptempo Dance rhythms and Jazz.

Why Me is the first single lifted from his debut concept EP 'States Of Being' planned for April 30th.  
"Why Me is about this feeling or state we all go through whether we care to admit it or not, its's not quite anger nor is it quite contemplation, but rather a mixture of both"

States of Being is an e.p that blurs the boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, gospel, garage and grime. The result is both expansive and intricate, scanning the vast spectrum of Black music.

Lewis’s music is expansive, intricate, conceptual, scanning the vast spectrum of Black music. Combined with his own cultural heritage as a native south Londoner and black British Caribbean, Lewis delivers music that blurs the boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, gospel, garage and grime and many other genres too.

He is an In-demand session musician and arranger, he is a member of many high profile groups including House Gospel Choir, MOBO award winning gospel artist Rachel Kerr , The Last Dinosaur, Boadi. Last year saw him tour with Florence + The Machine in the states and sessions including Cat Burns, Primal Scream and Waiting For Smith. 

He is currently working on his next release which will be a full album following his debut e.p States of Being which has had support from BBC Introducing Mixtape (Tom Robinson BBC Radio 6), BBC Radio London (Robert Elms Show) Worldwide FM, Soho Radio, Jazz FM, Twisted Soul to name a few.
