ein reizender Gesang, der angestimmt wird, um jemand ins Verderben zu locken; aber auch ohne die üble Nebenbedeutung, da die Sirenen auch nach alten Begriffen als Sänger schmelzender Lieder in edlem Sinne des Worts erscheinen, ein schöner, lieblicher Gesang.

a lovely chant sung to lure someone to ruin; but even without the bad secondary meaning, since the Sirens also appear according to old concepts as singers of melting songs in the noble sense of the word, a beautiful, lovely song.

So, there is a story behind the song. It talks about a man who lost family, went to war to forget his sorrow and unfortunately lost his soul with the horrors of war, so he sometimes recalls being alive (The chorus).

This is a song I wrote with Rachel Goldie a few weeks ago. It's pretty much a total collaboration but Rachel wrote the music mainly and I wrote the lyrics mainly and I wrote the bridge. There was a lot of back & forth and it was an extreme pleasure to work with her on it. Check out her music here on SoundCloud and other platforms, she is truly amazing!
