In ATL where I live, rainstorms have arrived for the next few days as Hurricane Erin has moved inland. Yet, even on the rainiest of days, the afterglow of music created around firelight lingers like the smoky scent of burnt hickory. In my world, that “firelight” is a computer screen, although in the past I’ve noodled an acoustic guitar around a campfire. Who hasn’t?! 😀

Afterglow

In a changing world, certainly in the UK, revolution and civil war are just around the corner. This track is intended to offer strength to those who refuse to accept insult. Drawing Out those amongst us who are prepared to say no, when no is required. To stand against totalitarian governments, quangos. ngos's and any other arms of oppression.
So this is what has inspired this piece.

Tom's piano melodies are so inspirational, not just to me (Mark) but also to Jussi, Georg and Boon. The energy of this piece carried us all off on a wonderful journey. I decided to take another stab at this song (went down a rabbit hole for about 10 hours and completely re-played and re-sang the song).  I struggled with the vocals on my original version so I changed the key to E which made it easier to sing.
