Simple track thinking of two friends that have passed.  With both I would drink tea.

Essentially a drone that goes on throughout with fairly sparse guitar track.  Somewhat dirge like and emotional.

Two for Tea (Requiem)

Dark passage.  Mountains, night, thunder, noises in the wind, peril, moments of light  and finally passage, maybe hope.  Maybe.

Dark sounds, low register lines played on guitar.  Surrounded by droning strings and bass, some noises off to the side organ and horns.

Dark Passage

A lighter passage.  More like springtime and sunny meadows.
Very simple track, predominant guitar line throughout, cyclical background rhythm and a slight touch of instrumental background, but basically a guitar solo.
The 'Spanish' reference is only because (to me) the guitar sounds like a Spanish guitar even if played on a Telcaster based on the old '52 specs.  And it is vaguely Spanish in feel.

Speaking in Spanish

Playing around with a chord progression, and realized that the first 3 chords sounded like Dylan's 'You're a Big Girl Now'.  On checking it really wasn't so, but the theme of Big Girl stayed in my mind and so these are variations on that theme.   Stripped down guitar, chords, bass and bit of e-piano.  Simple.  Pleasant lead line played on TMG Tele (actually all lines) -- the image is of 'Cindy's Pot' from my exhibition.

Recorded in Hawaii directly into UAD Apollo.  Just a rhythmic pattern with primary and secondary melody lines.  Lower register sections full of bass and strings.

Lots of lines interweaving.  Too much?  Too many?

Hawaiian Interlude.

Ala Moana Moana

Part of Hawaiian Interlude, really part two of Ala Moana Moana just taking it from the Canal side of the Park.  Uses some of the components of the previous track but with more orchestral arrangement and new lead line with more abrasive guitar tone.

So in some ways and alternate take.

2024 Recordings

Ala Wai Wai

Multiple lines interwoven, guitar lines predominant, orchestration in parts and a constant repeating theme that weaves in and out through the sections.  

Pretty much 'free jazz' but some consistency of theme.

A Cold Sun, Pale Moon

Conventional Intro up to 0:26 where it switches to faster runs, repeated short themes, extended long riffs, repeated lines. Speed varies throughout but many runs are fast -- 64th notes.

Organ and Piano in background - lead lines guitar as well as the chord work throughout.

Road to Damascus

Pretty basic blues with 2 guitar lines interweaving - one slightly abrasive in tone, the other bit smoother.  Add in thumping Bass, Rhythm Guitar and Keys.

Solos throughout, nice arc to the wailing.
