The song is inspired by the story of the protagonist of the book that Gabriele's brother is writing, this man falls into despair after the loss of his wife. "Some Kind of Dream" is about love, death and also about rebirth.

I’ve always aspired to the kind of song writing found on Kate and Anna McGarrigle’s debut album… I don’t think I get anywhere close, but here I was visualising ‘Harry Nilsson sings the McGarrigles’ as my inspiration…

one of my very first songs I made, I restructured and added more effects as well as redone the lyrics and vocals, bit soft until that chorus hits where the metal vocals drop.
