No fuss about it – but rough. When Leipzig was still a house instead of techno stronghold almost ten years ago and it wasn’t easy to find locations with two floors, subʞutan came to the Saxon city as a born Erfurt citizen. And the Leipzig native by choice has no doubt managed to leave his mark.
With three chums the Vertigo party series was quickly born, a sexpositive event that made techno more visible in Leipzig, at the same time setting new standards in the scene. It still exists in Leipzig’s most renowned club to this day: A party series “where even the offside has its place”.
From the same circle and the same mentality, precisely this well-known club was born: the Institut für Zukunft. subʞutan was heavily involved in its conception, was part of the booking crew in the turbulent early days and has been a resident ever since.
Although musically rooted in Industrial, Noise and Punk, he has been able to drive the Techno revolution in Leipzig from the very beginning, characterized by dark, dystopian and mostly – but not necessarily – rhythmic sounds.
“I can hate the whole world, but I could just as well be happy doing it.” – this is how the artist describes his relationship to the dark side of electronic music. A Berlin booking crew, who planned to have subʞutan play in their outdoor area, probably interpreted his music more according to the first model and according to the tale as follows: “If we have him play, we must reckon with dead birds falling from the sky.”
At the end of 2019, the public experienced subʞutan’s first live shows with Leshrac under the name artPara, as well as his first releases, for example on the Leipzig label Hypress and on a Rojava solidarity sampler of the Zurich label Kashev Tapes.
In may 2021 he contributed a track to very first vinyl release VAYA 001.
VAYA is a video platform, an event series, a label and an artist collective from Leipzig. The pandemic affected clubs and cultural places threatening their existence. VAYA wants to contribute to save the club and cultural scene in Leipzig and donates all revenues of the vinyl and digital sales to LiveKombinat and hence our beloved cultural venues in Leipzig.
...and for sure, he contributed also a track on the now availble "7IX" IFZ various artist compilation.

Ever since the closing of this account by error by SC two or three months ago, this problem has remained unfixed.  Soundcloud and their AI are apparently still working on solving this and other problems with this account, and with my other account ; )

2024/01/29:
What I wrote below was heart felt but presumptuous and pretentious.  I would have to not be stupid myself to be allowed to claim such a thing.  More importantly though, I don't believe it is correct or accurate.  These people are probably not stupid but just don't care.  Justice is a collective thing and many if not most people seem to live in bubbles.  It is perhaps economic oppression which is responsible, they just don't have the resources, the time, the energy to be concerned about what lies behond that bubble.  It used to be fine but there's this thing they call globalization which makes this increasingly impractical or impossible.

mid January 2024:
Justice and vengeance are not the same.  Apparently most people are too stupid to see the difference.  Unfortunately it is not something unique to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and not unique to group conflicts.

What happened to intelligence?  Aren't we supposed to be the "intelligent" specie.
