Icelandic Singer/songwriter Eliza Newman has been a formidable figure on the Icelandic music scene ever since her band Kolrassa Krókríðandi/Bellatrix burst on to the scenes many moons ago .Since then she has been a busy indeed writing and performing everything from opera to Eurovison hits with a short stop at Eyjafjallajökull, the song that became an over night internet sensation when things went a bit crazy over the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in 2010. Elíza has released four solo albums to critical acclaim worldwide and her latest album Straumhvörf a mix of feisty indie rock and folky melancholia has been very well received in Iceland with two nominations for the Icelandic Music awards last year as Album of the Year and, Song of the year and all round top reviews.She was based in London for many years as a musician but is now back in Iceland with her new album Stramhvörf. Straumhvörf has been met with great review, radio play and two nominations for the Icelandic music awards for album of the year and song of the year!

Elíza is also known as former lead singer of all-girl Icelandic band Bellatrix, and the rock band Skandinavia as well as beying instrumental in the Trubatrix movement , which promotes Icelandic female artist with gigs and album releases around Iceland . 

Elíza was just a teen when she formed the all-girl punk rock outfit Bellatrix / Kolrassa Krókrídandi. They went on to release four albums on Bjork’s Bad Taste label and in the process earned the tag of hottest female band to come out of Iceland; as well as signing to Fierce Panda for the release of their fourth album , and a co-headlining UK tour with Coldplay as well as headlining the Carling Stage at the Reading Festival. After Bellatrix Eliza released an album with the rock band Skandinavia receiving major critical acclaim. 
Eliza is also trained as an Opera singer and a versatile musician who plays violin , guitar , ukulele and piano . 
2007 saw the release of her first critically acclaimed solo album Empire fall and the beginning of a solo career. Eliza has not looked back from there , playing sell out shows in London and Reykjavik and receiving critical acclaim . 

In the summer of 2010, Eliza caused quite a stir with her volcano song called Eyjafjallajökull as seen featured on the Al Jazeera News channel . The song has become one of Al Jazeera..s most popular news pieces ever and the song is a big hit on the internet with over 250.000 hits in the first week ,and coverage in The New York Times , Huffington Post , The Daily Telegraph and countless internet sites covering it.

The album Pie in the Sky released worldwide in 2011, received rave reviews from Magazines like Music Week , The Word and Entertainment Weekly.
Eliza released her third solo album in Iceland called Heimþrá (Home longing) in 2012 sung in Icelandic. Heimþrá contained 4 top ten songs in Iceland and received across the board great reviews.
Her fourth solo album called Straumhvörf( Seachange) was released on the 22nd of November 2016 with great review, radio play and two nominations for the Icelandic music awards for album of the year and song of the year!

Taking his frustrations out on an unsuspecting ukulele, Uke’s Not Dead plays folk punk comedy songs about society’s injustices and his own embarrassing shortcomings. He will often be joined on stage by the all important rhythm section that is The Gastric Band, featuring Alex Caithness on bass ukulele and Ben Holdstock on slap cabinet (cajon).

Just a bit of fun. Wanted somewhere to store recordings so I can see if I am improving at all - probably not. May even venture into writing my own songs at some point in the future once I manage to escape from the piles and piles of half written ones but for now, it will just be covers.

Define description? I mean technically it could be about my music or just in general?

Hello! My names Jade I live within the rainy place of Norwich within Britain. 22 years of age and have my own job as a musician (I call it a job you call it a hobby) 



I'm a musician and composer and performed with the internationally-renowned Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain for 31 years. These days I write and perform my own music and compose tunes for film and TV.

Isla is a 24 year old nurse, originally from Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, but escaped from the terrorist seagulls and Soviet oppression to live in the leafy green forests of Edinburgh.

She took up ukulele because she was terrible at guitar, and ukuleles only have 4 strings. Go figure.

She writes daft songs when she should really be doing other things, but it helps keep her (relativley) sane, so it helps. 

She feels the need to write songs in pink strawberry-scented pen in a notebook she made herself, because she's THAT cool. 

She lists her talents as tap dancing, being able to bend the top of her pinky back 90 degrees, scaring strangers within two minutes of meeting her, talking at such a pitch only dogs can hear her and tea making.

She is also part mermaid, can grow a beard, lives in a volcano, and is secretly a man with a vagina. True story.

She is terrible at writing descriptions about herself, hence the fact when she does, she refers to herself in the third person, until she gets confused and refers to herself as "one", like the Queen does. One does hope one will enjoy one's page, and the content one will put on it.
