Ekbar Bol

Musician, designer, composer, inventor and spiritualist. My music is inspired spiritually and musically. In youth I played Bach, funk, jazz and reggae. I played in nylon string guitar duo which I warmly remember. I studied indian Ragas for some time and listen to Indian classical music for some years. Performed with tabla and recorded demo of our duo (vinar+tabla). I was always involved in kirtan projects and informal chanting in groups. I have developed mix between guitar and Indian vina / sitar (see: www.vidyafusion.com). I have two projects going, instrumental & vocal. I have started singing in 2005. Most material here is demo. I still maintain small logo and web design agency www.theMmedia.com. 

I hold the view that music is an expression of the soul and heart, and not so much of  intellect and technic. True music comes from silence, point of inner focus. 

I was a monk for 12 years living in India (Mayaur, West Bengal) and in Europe. I live now in Canada but looking elsewhere. I have a faithful and loving wife and smart son and very talented beautiful daughter. We want to live in uplifting environment with uplifting people. We think there is a deeper meaning to music and art in general - more lasting.
