Despite being essential to life on Earth, the magnetic field isn’t something we can actually see in itself, or ever hear. But, remarkably, scientists at the Technical University of Denmark have taken magnetic signals measured by ESA’s Swarm satellite mission and converted them into sound – and for something that protects us, the result is pretty scary.

Vajrapāṇi (sánscrito; Pali: Vajirapāṇi, que significa "Vajra en [su] mano") es uno de los bodhisattvas más tempranos en el budismo de Mahayana. Es el protector y guía de Gautama Buda y se levantó para simbolizar el poder del Buda.

Vajrapāni también se llama Chana Dorji y Chador y se representa ampliamente en la iconografía budista como una de las tres deidades o bodhisattvas protectores más tempranas que rodean al Buda. Cada uno de ellos simboliza una de las virtudes del Buda: Manjushri manifiesta toda la sabiduría de los Budas, Avalokiteśvara manifiesta todo el inmenso compasión de los Budas, y Vajrapāni protege a Buddha y manifiesta todos los Budas el poder así como el poder de los cinco Tathāgatas (Budeidad del rango de Buda). 

Vajrapāni es uno de los primeros dharmapalas del budismo de Mahayana y también aparece como una deidad en el canon Pali de la escuela Theravada. Es adorado en el monasterio Shaolin, en el budismo tibetano y en el budismo de la tierra pura (donde es conocido como Mahasthamaprapta y forma una tríada con Amitābha y Avalokiteśvara). Las manifestaciones de Vajrapāni también se pueden encontrar en muchos templos budistas en China, Taiwán y Japón como protectores del Dharma que protegen el monasterio y las puertas del templo. Vajrapāni también se asocia con Acala, donde sustenta como titular del Vajra.

Resolution ("A Love Supreme") by John Coltrane

"The Secret Love Affair" is the first track from trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis' new CD "The Last Southern Gentlemen." It features Marsalis' father, Ellis, on piano along with bassist John Clayton and drummer Marvin "Smitty" Smith.

Here's a wild Mahavishnu tune I covered in one day!

I memorized most of the solos, too. This is very close to the record!

All of the guitar parts were played on the Marble Head using the Vox
amp with the Lewitt mic. Then for the drums and violin tracks, I
played on the Yanaha m06. I also used one of the clavinets off of the Korg SV-1, and the Rhodes from the Nord 2 HA-88. I played on the fretted bass using the bass pod, and the synth parts were done on the Little Phatty. The gongs were from the Garritan Instant Orchestra "Earth Metal Percussion."

I put a whole bunch of wild effects on some of the instruments. For
another instance of the gong track, I added a flange effect. (I first
put a mono preset in both tracks.) Then for the synth solo, and violin
tracks, I added a distortion effect off of the Cakewalk Ampsim (I
think I used "British Crunch" on the synth solo, and "Fuzz 1" for the
violin tracks.)

Anyway, I had a lot of fun doing this one.

The Black Page #1 by Frank Zappa, cover by Rachel Flowers

Frank was always hearing the studio musicians in LA talking about the fear of going into sessions some morning and being faced with "the black page."  So he decided to write his "Black Page."

The drums were from Session Drummer plus some percussion. More percussion was from Garitan Jazz and Big Band, along with the horns. The marimba was from the Nord Electro 4D. The xylophone, violin, fretless bass, and synth were all on the Yamaha M06.
