Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Now, just a few years later VIVa is a self-contained hotbed for new talent which draws attention from DJs, punters and producers alike. Having previously handled the now-classic and traditional vinyl label Harlem Records, Lawler decided VIVa was to be a forward thinking outlet for quality music and boldly announced that VIVa was to be digital only. As well as a clear mission to look towards the future of the music industry, this was a step to ensure that music could be released quickly and retain the freshness that the labels A&R was struck by. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. Always ones to buck trends, the VIVa family are pressing vinyl again alongside it's digital output as well as expanding its roster of relatively unknown talent rather than rely on the tried and tested. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more. Often referred to as "Rave Culture's first pop star", it was in the summer of 1988 that the artist ADAMSKI was born.

The following year Adamski quickly catapulted into the upper echelons of the nascent rave scene. Within a few weeks Adamski was playing to 1000s of people at all the key seminal illegal rave parties and became the resident musician at Ibiza’s hugely influential Amnesia nightclub and soon after released squiggly acid piano shuffler ‘N-R-G’. ,performed on Top Of The Pops, released ‘LIVEANDIRECT’ - an album cobbled together of various live recordings from raves. A then unknown Seal snuck a demo tape to Adamski and was offered the instrumental of what turned out to be ‘Killer’, reaching #1 in the UK, and top of the club charts across Europe & the U.S.

Throughout the late 90s Tinley shifted focus to his DJ career. He soon adopted a new moniker, Adam Sky, touring Europe, South America and Asia and making the odd UK appearance.

Besides Tinley's other projects, 3STEP and SONNY E., producer and DJ ADAMSKI of course still brings you bastardized and uniquely mixed club classics from the origins of the rave era through today and beyond....

DJ Rashad has been instrumental to the creation and evolution of Chicago Juke music and has been lifelong friends with other key players on the scene such as Paul Johnson, DJ Gant-Man, DJ Spinn, DJ Godfather and Jammin Gerald. He has the ability to blend elements of house, ghetto house, disco, juke, and ghetto tech together with a knack for creating sparse, snappy tracks that manage to convey a physicality and funk with spectacular precision.
Along with his teammates DJ Spinn and DJ Gant-Man, DJ Rashad has become notorious for making Juke anthems that have made fans outside the world of Chicago mix cds. He’s released records on Dancemania, Juke Trax, Planet Mu, created his own label, Ghettophiles, as well as had featured remixes on BBE, Palms Out Sounds, and Movel Traxx. He’s received press coverage from DJ Mag, XLR8R, Fact, Resident Advisor, as well as Rip It Up. Additionally, he’s headlined parties such as London’s Night Slugs, Brussel’s Regulate, Chicago’s Mad Decent Block Party, and New York City’s Turrbotax and Moma’s PS1 events.
