Blood Trust (Quinn Smith) is a new name in electronic music. Specialising primarily in UK club music, he believes that the atmosphere a composition evokes can be more revealing and of greater interest than the specific genre it’s been assigned to. After a brief hiatus, Discipline return with their 5th installment, with a lot more to come as we move into 2023! 
We delve deep into 4 interchangable moods from label curator,Antagonist. Each track carefully deconstructing elements and crossing borders taking inspiration from a broad field. We begin with Hyperdrive Dreams, a crisp drum loop sheltering icey pads giving the listener a space voyage to remember, easing into Transport, which could form the backing music as your craft docks into the space station to refuel! 
Landing back onto terraferma , Watercourse guides us back through lush green treelines and dense forests with the touch of ethereal arp loops , layered behind sharp drum edits throughout. The final sequence in the title track ends the EP on a high, a 4/4 time signature from Antagonist pushing the scope wide, drawn out brass vistas accompany distorted bass sounds from the rear keeping your focus locked throughout. A solid journey from the unique artist for your collection!

Antagonist - Transport (Ambient mix)

The drumfunk genius Data General makes a welcome return to Omni Music after his incredible work on Pinecone Moonshine. He's back doing what he does best; bemusing the listener with his intricately weaved sounds. 'Smile When You Say Nasty Words' instantly sets the tone for the EP with its freeform stabs of funk and evolving drums that narrate the journey. You would never think a marine creature would be capable of such a rhythmic work out but 'A Family of Jellyfish' will prove you wrong as they wrap their tentacles around an old discarded drumkit found at the bottom of the sea. 'Blues Riff' effortlessly merges drumfunk with classic Warp records-esque harmonics, creating a novel and original foray into sound. The EP ends not with dots and dashes as the track title would suggest, but with another drumfunk journey into twisted breaks and living snares. This is an EP with all the elements that make Jungle what it is; breaks, bass & jazz funk influences, while at the same time being almost nothing like Jungle, simply existing in its own form. Omni Music are looking forward to what mayhem Data General can unleash next.

The launch of Sub Channel Music is the latest achievement of Max Hock, for many better known as Es.tereo or Theme. Shaping the 170 genre for almost over a decade now, his name is undoubtedly linked with musical passion and high production skills. Working with Samurai as Theme has been one of 170s best kept secrets, culminating in the acclaimed ‘Passages’ LP in 2017. The cinematic soundscapes Max Hock has woven with his productions made long waves within the scene and were appreciated from music lovers all over the world. 
  
To gain more musical freedom and follow his inner beliefs, Max Hock now founded Sub Channel Music. Starting off with the magnificent "Earthbound EP", Es.tereo is going back to his roots and creates distinctive dark and tribal soundscapes; mixed with a strong organic vibe. To round this EP up, man of the moment - Homemade Weapons - delivers a fierce remix which erupted dance-floors from Berlin to Washington and has proven itself as a serious weapon numerous times.

You know the feeling when everything’s done, but something is missing? And you can’t do anything about it. Here is one hour potion of perfection mixed with imperfection spices made by two witch crafters. All tracks were picked up carefully, while experimenting with various combinations. Both half hour parts stands out for the characters and tells two different stories. This collaboration wouldn’t happen if two characters weren’t in the same way. Passion for the same  genre of music pushed them into another side of the dance floor.
