Intentions is the first record to be released on new Berlin based experimental label, NIA. The label name is a Swahili word that serendipitously translates to Intentions. The inception of the label came about at a time of peak isolation, prompting label founders, Collo, Delfiné and Loft Garten to assemble a compilation of tracks from artists near and dear as a form of collective practice. Consequently the compilation echoes hyper-melancholia, fragmented orchestral pieces, yearning ambient and experimental sound design laced with bop worthy club moments.

NIA aspires to move with intention to release music rooted in openness and honesty. The platform looks to amplify sound based practices existing to dismantle and decolonise oppressive racist, patriarchal and capitalist structures. The curation of releases gives priority to underrepresented scenes and artists. Through the releases the label aims to form non-verbal communication, aligning collective ideas and practice building on an innovative and diverse approach to music. NIA looks to have a platform for artists to articulate their vision on a project and have it fully actualised collectively.

It's been no secret that Poland marks as one of Europe's most significant melting pots of electronic computer music. Hand in hand with prominent festivals, adventurous labels, and the overall vivid culture of the niche genre, the country's breeding ground has raised countless talented and innovative up-and-coming producers. Having released music under his former moniker 'rużaw' as well as various projects including his widely acclaimed album 'Gluon' already as 'paszka' via Noumenal Loom, performing at Unsound and often collaborating with his partner or peers, the Krakow's very own Szymon Sapalski already is an established name among the ever-flourishing local matrix. Named after the word 'laptop' repeatedly misspelled by his friend's grandma, paszka now presents his follow-up longplay 'lapton' via Gin&Platonic.

On lapton, paszka has achieved to graft fierce rhythms and defragmented particles of contemporary pop music onto his signature hyper manic and rigorous sound design. But where the quirky record kinda innocently starts as lanparty-gone-goofy-by-personal-computers-taking-over-their-masters-playlistst and beyond a CPU-overload-from-granny's-healthresort-vacation-powerpoint-photocollection, it suddenly slows down onto jovial sketch of Goofy the Dog's presentation of approximate 5-year prediction of development of global prices of uranium, then 'lapton' quickly speeds up and darkens onto a mighty-microtonalism-motherboard-epilepsy, a melodramatic-bluescreen-glitchcore-blues. Shattered to many directions yet strangely coherent, paszka's fastidious music remains both geeky and candidly ludicrous.

London based singer-songwriter c0sti debuts on TT label with 'As above, so below'. 6 tracks of raw, unconventional bass and instrumental patterns cemented blissfully by the artist's dark, moody lyrics.

'Walk down a dark path (you're gonna trip)' cuts its teeth with a grimacing guitar riff with c0sti's angelic yet somewhat devilish voice trickling above along a robust tribal drum beat. 

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Kurt Cobain and William Blake, alongside the study of dark, light, heaven & hell, c0sti creates a transmission that feels as obsessive as it does liberating.

With a handful of releases out on various pioneering imprints (including longplays RISC Chip and Meme Booth via Conditional Records or the latest contribution to the groove series by Warsaw based label outlines), the producer, programmer and live-coder Mike Hodnick is one of the leading figures representing a movement of computer-centred music production, recently labeled as algorave. Since we are devoted fans for quite some time, the Platonic's are proud to present Mike Hodnick´s latest project under the prolific Kindohm alias - 'Deserted / Reclaimed'.
Sequenced live on a drum machine, the diptych stretches across four vast sonic plains, bounded by curvy dunes formed by countless TidalCycles code bits, constantly pouring over like the grains of scorching and shiny sand. Full of paradoxical rhythm twists planted into the ever-bending landscape, Deserted / Reclaimed reads as a fragmented and sometimes petrifying ride towards the chaotic percepts of the monumental surroundings, dissolving in the thermal inversion somewhere far on the horizon.
