"I am trapped.

Around me I hear whispers of invisible Evil while radios and television sets deliver daily reports of despondency in clipped but sonorous soundbites. Some cower, some see no Evil and have no fear of it, but all are under the oppressive weight of Its presence, panicked by the pressure of the imposition of 'protection' . The world stands still and holds her breath.

I do not fear this Evil. A greater gluttony of misery is gained from my continued existence and so It has no taste for me. 

I fear the people It oppresses.... I am not one of them, though I once tried my hardest to conform and comply with their crippling, ever-shifting expectations and demands. I learned to fear them before the Evil came.... in Its presence they have become base and selfish and self-serving, some left without a shred of decency or compassion in their gleeful terror.

The walls are closing in on me, reflecting the glare and gleam of claustrophobic heat and crushing defeat. Outside I hear the clamour of chaos, the clash and cacophony of my hell and its inhabitants. 

I leave, risk braving open space... vultures circle around me, glaring and scornful, harrying and eager to devour. I cannot avoid them. I try to plead but am ignored. Frantic and fighting to contain my own terror and rage, I chase them away with snarls but this only feeds their malice. They caw and jeer at me with deafening ignorance and indignation.

I scuttle to sanctuary, desperate for respite... only to be chased away by rabid wolves, foaming with fury, muzzles dripping vitriol and hate, emboldened and secure with the sanctimonious sophistry of suspicion and social media.

I flee home and brace myself to bear the dense burden of deepening darkness and despair but the delirious jabbering of debauched devils, leering and cheering and jeering as I fall.... it is more than I can bear.

Release is denied. I am forbidden.

I am trapped."

Jealous

Growing up in the Maitland and Newcastle area before venturing to Lake Macquarie and finally settling back in Newcastle, this self taught musician has picked up Drums, Bass, Electric, Acoustic, Vocals and maybe a song or 2 on keys, using nothing but reading material and his ears. ("Ok, ok there was about 2 months of having a drum tutor"). Having a musical father and an absolute plethora of music to influence him throughout the years his sound is forever changing and evolving through his constant appreciation and love of multiple conflicting styles and strengths.

The music is always the same, and always different simultaneously. It can be powerful and ethereal, as well as honest and rocking. With a predominant influence coming from Jeff Buckley it's easy to see the similarities reflected through the subtle and sometimes dramatic shift in style and sound between songs. Currently finalizing and putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album.

Over the years Wesley has had the immense pleasure to play and work alongside some extremely talented musicians, while also managing to promote his own musical directions on many stages. Playing at The Vacy Blues N Roots Festival in 2014 alongside 8 Ball Aitken (Nashville) & McAlister Kemp. Provided a dazzling acoustic support for Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon in 2016. Performed on stage with 5 of Newcastle's finest musicians to bring to life an exceptionally ethereal Jeff Buckley Tribute show in 2018 which shattered all expectations.
