Playground Records presents its 68th main catalogue release, Late Night Shit, a posthumous work from our beloved Canadian-Mexican friend and artist Ali X. This record had already been prepared and sent for distribution during Ali’s lifetime, and he was deeply enthusiastic and full of ideas about its release. With three original tracks and a remix by Chicago’s BRKN, Late Night Shit embodies everything Ali X stood for: raw, fearless energy where House and Indie collide in wild, dirty grooves made for the after-hours. Distorted basslines, twisted rhythms and cool, no-rules attitude mark a sound that is unapologetic, sweaty and pure late-night chaos—just as Ali envisioned.

After consulting Ali’s closest friends, collaborators Don Jon and GuzzX (who appear on two of the original tracks), and BRKN (who delivers the remix), we agreed to honour his wish and release this record exactly as planned. All proceeds will be donated to his family as a way of supporting those he loved most. Late Night Shit now stands as a tribute to Ali X—a fearless creator, a generous soul, and an unforgettable friend. His spirit lives on in the music, in his collaborators, and in everyone who dances to his sound. Ali X forever.

'Rex' is a peak-time track offering tougher beats and bass but still maintaining the warm and deep essence that flows through the whole EP. Spoken vocals carry the track through along with haunting strings,  taking the track on 6 minute voyage through deep house music.

'Church Road' offers a journey into melody deep house complimented by warm synth and driving bass, with a nod to the earlier Chicago sound. Perfect for either warm-up or peak time sets.

As you might know, Heist Recordings was created by the lads of Detroit Swindle as a means to take control of their own releases. However, in the 5 years that they have been in existence, Heist has also become a launching pad for many producers from their homeland the Netherlands. Artists like Nachtbraker to Frist Wentik and Fouk, all have featured their music on the label and have helped Heist become the Dutch, funk powerhouse that it is today. In keeping up with the tradition of showcasing the best deep house and disco the Dutch have to offer, Heist has decided to add another friend into the mix - the exquisite producer Pitto!

Set to come out tomorrow, Pitto's debut EP on the label Late Night Studio Moves will feature 3 new original tracks from him along with a delightful remix from Colin de la Plante, better known as the Mole. As you can hear in the lead track, Pitto's inspiration for the record seems to be heavily influenced by African melodies. Throughout the song's epic 9:26 entirety, one can hear playful vocals and percussion from the continent accompanied by a soulful array of piano keys and titillating synths. Each of these electronic and live elements are then tastefully brought in and out as the track takes the listener on a journey that will leave them in a state of dancefloor euphoria. We're sure that Late Night Studio Moves will be a crowd favorite wherever it is played this summer!

The Neovinyl boys ready the 84th record in their catalog with another artist EP from Carlo, one of the label co-founders. He’s been on the rise lately, releasing fantastic projects and singles via SUOL, Laggafe Tales, Organic Downbeat, and most recently, Beste Modus. 

Carlo's turned up the energy on this EP, and the three soulful house cuts are a welcome change of pace from his other, more relaxed projects. Once again, impeccable sampling and drum programming shine through on each track, and fans of Carlo’s music will be pleased to hear his signature Berlin influenced sound on each of the EP’s tracks. 

Happiness pervades the entirety of “Little Talks,” and it’s obvious that newfound fatherhood looks good on Carlo. Track one sees him working again with collaborator Nikoss, who’s piano work sits perfectly within a jackin’ tune full of funk bass, deep pads, and swirling strings. Carlo finds the perfect loop on track two, filtering it in and out to highlight a soulful vocal that rips over dusty, organic percussion. The project’s closer is a transportive affair through vintage jazz sounds. It’s a deeper, quirkier affair that seems to be perfect closing track for another standout effort from, Carlo.
