The Gun Well Street are pleased to present The Gun Aid LP. 14 tracks that perfectly encapsulate the sound of one of too many guinnesses underneath the neon lights late into the evening. The kind of leftfield jams we love, be it techno, house, dub, EBM or industrial. An eclectic bunch of oddballs, just like our regulars.

Many of our nearest and dearest have donated songs, including Daniel Avery, Nitzer Ebb, Roisin Murphy, Andy Bell (as GLOK), and The 2 Bears’ Raf Rundell. We’ve got the first ever track from Mister Deltoid, the brand new project by Nathan Gregory Wilkins & Paranoid London’s Quinn Whalley. Ivan Smagghe and C.A.R. make up I.C.A.R. Body Hammer’s Scott Fraser, Richard Sen, Cherrystones, Nuphonic’s Dave Hill & the Ballistic Brothers as Soul Revivers, Arveene Juthan & Shamon Cassette as Bon Voyage, Skylab with Cecile Loyez, and our very own Mondowski are all on board. Design work, as ever, by Rusty. We’d like to thank everyone involved not just for their contributions, but for their continued support and friendship.

The Gun isn’t just a music venue, it’s very much a community pub in-fact, of all the artists on the tracklist, only Roisin hasn’t DJed there (yet). A year of disastrous Tory policy in the face of a global pandemic and things have never been so tough, but that doesn’t just go for us. It goes for the entire community. As such, proceeds from this project will be split between keeping the pub afloat, and to be donated to local families via charity Hackney Quest. Hackney Quest are a local charity who have worked with The Gun in coordinated projects, such as organising an anti-racism street festival on Well Street over the last few years.

All bandcamp pre-orders will also receive digital downloads of tracks from Jorge Velez and Toresch which have never been released digitally before.

@siferrecords launches its journey with “Hijaz Landing,” the debut release from label founder @sinanabdelmoati This EP invites listeners on a voyage through new grooves, ancient scales, and empowering melodic stories, setting the stage for a label rooted in tradition yet always exploring new horizons.

Hijaz Landing
The title track pulses with dark, energetic momentum, weaving together techy grooves and hypnotic tribal percussion. Mysterious melodies float above, drawing on the evocative Hijaz scale, while the arrangement is electrified by fleeting, almost aerial sonic textures. The inspiration of the title comes from a sense of landing in a new ancient place, a sonic arrival guided by rhythm and ancestral echoes.

Champion
“Champion” flips the mood, bringing uplift and empowerment to the dance floor. Its euphoria swells atop a roaring bassline, with lush, melodic lines designed to fill listeners with strength and a sense of possibility. The track’s bright, driving character encapsulates the spirit of overcoming and triumph.

From hosting parties, radio shows and releasing records under the Feel the Drive  banner, to recording under his Ondata guise, Szymek Lawik (@feelthedrive) – along with music wife Martin Lefteri – has been turning heads for a while now. 

Here, he heads out on his own with two original tracks riding shotgun and a trunk full of remixes – ready for any eventuality. 

“World Without End” is the sound of an urban city dweller finding the ocean lapping at his feet, staring out at the world, while the twin tides of lockdown and Brexit pull us back into an isolated slumber. Fusing classic Italo and Belgian new beat sensibilities with mournful melodic motifs, WWE’s ethereal vocal gently intones as the emotional swell builds, “I want peace, I want to feel calm, I want to feel safe.” It’s a tonic for the times. 

Kid Machine (@kidmachinemusic) brings everything into sharp focus, harnessing beat and bass as only he can. Leaving the melody to surge ever onwards, the perfectly sculpted rhythm circles back to pick up any wayward stragglers. It’s precision-engineered music for future discos – whenever they might return.

"Like water drops, gently hovering, slowly bursting one by one, reassembling themselves simultaneously." An imagery that shaped this shining debut album "klondike" by hanisii - a mysteriously operating artist who has been flying under the radar for half a decade now yet scattering some highly unique re-interpretations via Soundcloud.

After a no-contact-no-contract-deal with Rico Puestel about remixing and editing his music back in 2016 and 2017 (working out both stunningly and skillfully), it took three years until this album at hand emerged out of the blue. Adapted to the circumstances, Rico Puestel constructed a way of presenting this specialty item appropriately on his large-scale project "Time In The Special Practice Of Relativity": A "slight bit" beyond the usual, showcasing the entire album on a limited cassette tape together with an exclusive SD card, carrying its digital audio version + bonus material.

As one might cynically state that God created music, the devil the ones writing about it, it feels right to keep it short and simple about the album itself here: Setting the scene itself with an intro and outro of genuine beauty (letting even an old broadcasting signal sound like those multifarious water drops of elegancy), everything in between profoundly passes through the depths of electronic onomatopoeia in nine diverse yet coherent and organic shapes, melting the groovy energy of House music with a pervasive serenity and clearness of Techno aesthetics. 

While "klondike" allows itself to only raise the singular claim of wanting to get listened to, the scent of a future classic might be floating around the ether...

Imagine music that is as insisting as it it curious?! C.O.U. is back with an EP leaning on the Interrobang, the lesser known combination of a question mark and an exclamation point. It starts with the TRACK ID, a song about wondering about which track is played at a club, or maybe at some online event? It continues with tracks equally enjoyable for listening and dancing: faux-oriental disco, concerned boogie-funk, a cosmic take on the legendary Sleng Teng-riddim and finally a balkan-inspired track partly generated by Articial Intelligence.
The Center of the Universe is an artist who mainly, but not only works with music and sound.
The band, which is a solo project (hence the name) has released nearly 20 full length albums, plenty of remixes and also works for films, theathre and sound art.
Following along with the Interrobangerz are videos to all five of them: these are not made for promotion but are meant as works in their own right. In fact it's the other way around; the music is supposed to promote the videos! Italian A-Tweed delivers an EP inspired by the discovery of a prehistoric and early medieval site in the North Caucasus, outside of Kislovodsk: Klin-Yar, Crooked Valley in Russian.
In the originals, he re-imagines the metallic and odd tribal sound of the Iron Age in 'Klin Yar Disco', dreams about some folk and moaning tunes feeling in 'Big in Norway' and celebrate an unforeseen childhood football idol from Croatia who played in Parma in the 90s 'Serie A' in 'Mario Stanić'.
The remixes are provided by Colossio, Kolomensky and Dario Dea.

Following a stellar debut EP last year, Prague-based FM Label is back with a new release this March. The second release from the imprint sees FM Label founder Uncalled 4 team up with Czech artist Roman Horinek as part of their new Detente 2020 project. 

Titled ‘Enough’, the release is the second EP in a trilogy that pays homage to hip-hop and rap through the years. While part one of the trilogy was inspired by the ‘80s, part two explores ‘90s hip-hop and rap, mixing the iconic era’s sounds with contemporary influences.

The title track sees Detente 2020 team up with NYC hip-hop legend Afu-Ra (Gang Starr) and vocalist Charlie One to bridge iconic ‘90s street rap with contemporary electronic sounds and cinematic vibes. The EP also features an acapella version of the track, along with remixes from Detente 2020, DJ Schwa, Olsvangèr and Oliver Torr.

DJ Schwa goes back to the roots with an old-school, acid-laden broken-techno remix, while Prague-based artist Oliver Torr’s remix transforms the original into a slowed-down experimental track. In contrast, Tel Aviv native Olsvangèr’s remix of ‘Enough’ is a dancefloor weapon suitable for dark and sweaty clubs and summer open-air festivals.

The other original track from the EP, ‘Bucket Tube’ is a result of a collaboration between Detente and Czech Philharmonic Orchestra drummer Jakub Tengler, who played buckets, pots, pipes and other unusual objects to create the percussive track.

Norway’s Fett Burger takes ‘Bucket Tube’ on a ride through NYC with his ‘Work Out’ remix, creating the feeling of walking around the streets of the Big Apple.

Enough EP is out on March 8 on vinyl, cassette and digitally.
