Lion’s Drums full length exists as an exploration in multiple dimensions. First by challenging the notion of the album format by presenting a body of work that lies snuggly between remixes, edits and original works and secondly as a means to delve into the transcendent potential of the drum. The album sets the tone by putting these two concepts fully on display with its hypnotic chant, swaying one into ease over the first two songs. In orderly cue folding and unfolding, meditatively through, melodies as muddied pastelle whispers cast over the measured language of the drum. Breaking away from the musing themes of the opening songs we find an ecstatic ritual in "Tanz der Körperlinge" and "Journey to Middle Earth”, two distinct varieties but both of the same perennial species. Inky ether seeps back in through the second half of the album with a peak of frenzied tumbling toms and incongruous textures hovering above in the Manos Tsangaris’ collaboration “Crying Tafel” and his re-imagining of Tullio De Piscopo’s unhinged drum excursion “Fastness”. The closing exemplifies the edit/remix/original ethos proposed for this work with Lions Drums drawing from tapes and original material of electronic pioneers Suzanne Ciani and Roberto Musci. Drawing from unreleased music and song sketches by the original artists as well as field recordings from travels & studio sessions made by Roberto Musci & Manos Tsangaris in the 80's and early 90’s he constructs a side winding journey through playful textures and ethereal moods.

The third and final volume of Freeride Millenium's forward-thinking IMPACT series arrives on February 25th. It is packed with left-of-centre electronic sounds from Rotciv, Chinaski, Matisa, Zombies in Miami and Nikkname.
The idea behind the Impact collection is to highlight the dance floor's importance as a place for creative thinking, sexual liberation and multicultural amplification. This was brought into sharp relief during lockdown when label boss Jorkes and Lisa Jäger had to cancel their HOT all-gender sauna parties in Vienna. It left them and their community with nowhere to go and gave rise to ‘Impact’, as well as discussions at the WAF Galerie that Lisa co-curates. Each volume has come in tandem with its own talk with subjects including 'clubs as places for freedom and emancipation.'
This final volume opens up with Rotciv. He is well known to heady crowds at places like Panorama Bar, Robert Johnson and the Cocktail D’Amore parties, and also runs the Mister Mistery label when he blends acid, techno, electro and disco. 'Dirty Coast' is a rugged and twisted dark disco stomper with flashes of synth, gurgling bass and trippy electronics. Stefan Haag aka Chinaski aka S-F-X is a sound and visual artist, a resident at Robert Johnson and a regular on the Frankfurt club's own imprint. His excellent 'Power, Flower, Violence and Shower' shoots for the stars with its cosmic synth rays, colourful disco arps and elastic bass ensuring you move every bone in your body. Born in Rome, now based in Florence, Matisa has long been attuned to the intersection of music and style and has shown it in her music on labels like Optimo Music, Biologic Records and Butter Sessions. Her 'Supernova' is a supersized track with big piano chords, techno drums and chopped-up vocals all bringing the party. Mexico's Zombies In Miami are label regulars and live artists with a dark and alluring club sound. With 'One More Time' they take the dance floor on a widescreen trip to the cosmos with rugged basslines, chattery claps uplifting old-school chords. Last of all comes another friend of the label in Vienna-based Greek artist Nikkname who alongside label boss Jorkes has released on Curses’ Ombra INTL label. His nine-minute futuristic masterclass 'Seeing Morphs' layers up serene chords and smooth grooves that are ripe for introspection as well as heads-down dancing. 
This fantastic final instalment completes the vital Impact series in style and once again comes with artwork from Daniel Rajcsany.

Saturn is a music project by DJ/Producer Andra G. Yoseph, which over the years had worked alongside music collectives and labels. Joining Akamady Records in 2019, he also has done several rework and remixes on other labels, one of his notable remix was released under MMDiscos Berlin. Its vibe sits in the middle spectrum between organic wave and 70’s psychedelia, equipped with subtle krautrock feel.
Karavan Haze EP marks Saturn's second original mix series release on Akamady Records. The EP starts with Moonstone Dub, a mix between dub-disco house and percussive soundscapes, evoking a trip through a nocturnal tunnel. Then comes Karavan Haze, an atmospheric electronica track that provides mind and body elevating trip. The EP closes with Santi Kush, which combines distinct aspects of world music and traditional percussion with mind-altering subliminal groove.

Brazilian sound wizard ROTCIV continues to impress with a new EP called 'Delirium'.
As always, the striking artwork is by Daniel Rajcsanyi.

This Latin American artist has honed a colourful signature sound over the last decade. Standout releases have taken him to Permanent Vacation, Massimiliano Pagliaras ́ Funnuvojere Records, Full Pupp and Polari Records. He layers up complex alternating arpeggios, automated synth melodies and weird vocals with minimal drum tracks to create something fresh every time.

Opener 'Tokyo Bay' is a glossy and potent slow-disco cut with tough synth arps and piercing 909 drums. Gated vocals and shooting lasers place you in the middle of a heaving dance floor with your hands in the air. The excellent 'Nobody' then warps space and time with an elastic and dynamic bassline under crashing hits and 90's inspired raw drums. It's a physical workout with plenty of muted acid energy.

'Delirium' then comes in two different forms. The Broken Dreams Mix is a throwback electro-funk cut with snappy breakbeats offset by softer pads as searching synths spray across the mix. Last of all, the Nightmare Mix is a more nimble yet cosmic cut for the afterhours with drums that dart about next to explosion of astral synth. It's got a powerful bassline and plenty of off-grid groove that brings something fresh.

These are four more characterful and vibrant cuts from ROTCIV.
