Lithuanian-based artist and the owner of the sunniest bar in Nida resort “Saulės baras” - Emilis San presents his very first track. His long-dreamed ambition for music production finally comes to the daylight in a form of “Particles”. Its nostalgic melody creates a trippy sensation while the boiling and punchy bass line make you move around. Emilis San sends huge thanks to his coach Jonas Calli, who helped him develop an essential set of skills and form his own sound, and Jaroška for neat mastering.

Anastasia Zems (SXDNS169) defines herself as "a girl who can do both". She is certainly referring to her sharp skills not only performing but also producing, little wonder she has been achieving more and more recognition for her work by queuing a string of gigs both in local and international realms and having her output published on mighty and vital labels such as Duro, Hard Fist, Les Yeus Orange, Sinchi, Playground, and Logical, just to name a few – and this is just the beginning. Anastasia has not been in the game for that long, and having her work recognized still in the early stages of her journey is a sign that stardom awaits her in a very near future.

The rising Russian talent moved recently to Lisbon and quickly conquered the Portuguese ears with her refined darkness-meets-groovy sonority. The successful formula is repeated on her forthcoming release "Atlantika" on the Italian label Alzaya featuring a savoury remix by Eklektique. For the 12'' aficionados out there, the pressed format of the EP is going to be available soon for your consideration.

"Casa Amarela" delivers its message through an EMB-clad gait and a menacing aura spiced with the right amount of acid. The powerful bassline and eerie vocals cannot go unmentioned. A solid work – one of Anastasia’s finest, in our humble opinion – whose for-intelligent-dance-floors-only tag will not prevent it from reaching wider audiences outside the darkness fan base.

Human Endeavour ready their next release, ‘Echo Ritual’: a heady, potent brew of club sounds from Middlesbrough DJ, producer and label head REES.

Marking the label’s most club-ready outing to date, and signalling a venture into darker musical realms for the Magic Ritmo co-boss, the EP’s three tracks connect the dots between electro, EBM and wave.

A departure from the Italo, leftfield house and trance-soaked sounds heard on his previous releases for the likes of Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi and Palms Trax's CWPT, ‘Echo Ritual’ charges straight out the gates with its euphoric, whirring synths that ring out over an infectious chugging bass line.

‘Northern Chug’ follows suit, taking cues from visceral body music and heavy, stomping electro, before REES ups the tempo for closing track ‘Venom’; another deadly dose of slithering electro fuelled by biting, metallic synths and razor sharp percussion.

Sofacast 93 | Harmoniusz

Recue is the creative outlet of Riku Annala, a Helsinki based producer exploring the left field of electronic music. Recueʼs earliest recordings date back to the early 2000s and his genre-fluid approach to music has led to work with labels like Touched Music and Detroit Underground. Recueʼs work often features collaborative elements and heʼs had the pleasure to work with artists such as Robot Koch, Jamie Lidell, Julien Marchal and Jesse Markin either through direct features in his solo material or through remixing their work. His music has also served as the backdrop for theater and TV productions, one being the travel series Madventures.
His latest body of work Tensegrity has been released through the Finnish record label Signal Life, and it delves into converting non-linear storytelling devices from literature and cinema into the musical realm by dismantling static tempo completely.
Especially for our podcast Recue has recorded a wonderful mix of both released and unreleased tracks.

Which artists has influenced you the most?

- It's difficult to pinpoint artists that have influenced me the most, but there are a lot of artists whose work has resonated with me throughout the years, and I'm sure each of them have contributed to my work in some way. Artists like Lorn, Hecq, Amon Tobin, Jon Hopkins, Machinedrum and Arca each have their own sound that has inspired me in some ways, not to mention classics like Aphex Twin and the whole period of 90s rave and IDM music that I grew up with.
 
What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- I have few collaborations in the making, that I'll leave unnamed at this point, and the mix also includes some unreleased work, that might see an official release in the near future. I'm also prepping more of the non-linear music, that I did with Tensegrity EP last year.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- The mix provides a good cross section of some of the inspiration I've been feeling, but to mention some specifically, the genre fluid aesthetic of Signal Life and Analogical Force, both of which I've released music on lately, is something that I've been feeling. Also Prague based label Yuku is pushing boundaries in a direction that I find really interesting.

What inspires you now to create music?

- Basically the same thing that's kept me going over the years: Because it's fun. I like the creative process, finding out and learning new things. Breaking the linearity of electronic music in Tensegrity EP was an extra pinch of inspiration, since it brought a completely new angle on creating. I want to continue that and see where it leads.

What set-up do you use when creating music?

- I have a studio full of synths and samplers, but the brain of everything is Ableton Live. I could get rid of all the hardware and still be able to make music with it. Not that I'd want to though! Hardware can be tons of fun as well.

Having been on the scene running underground parties celebrating the left-field around London for the last three years, the off-kilter rave collective fragment on machines have curated a selection of genre-defying talent from the UK and abroad for their debut compilation release.

FOM001 was created with the intent of raising money for the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Medical Aid Palestine and features 12 unique club-adjacent tracks ranging from cinematic Bladerunner breaks to gritty, unstable hyperpop, from artists united by their support of the Palestinian people.
