Recently joining the UK-based label All Centre as co-head alongside Simkin and DJ Pitch, Sobolik has been turning heads over the last few years with their futuristic club cuts on labels such as 3024 and early reflex. Hailing from New York, Sobolik's world is filled with colour and hyperkinetic energy - not fitting in one box, their output can span across UK-influenced soundscapes of UKG and weighty bass rhythms to glistening, rolling techno anthems which can be found on their recent All Centre release. A producer very much on the rise, Sobolik is one of our ones to watch out for in 2022, we're so excited to see what they get up to next! 

Speaking about their contribution to our series, Sobolik says, "this mix basically sums up where my head is at musically these days, both from the records i've been listening to and dj sets i've enjoyed recently from the likes of lychee & aaron j, aurora halal & ron like hell, sharlese, plo man, sister zo, and zoe mcpherson. i feel like each of these sets i got to experience in the past three weeks presented such a compelling and deep narrative that colored in and around the lines of 'straightforward' techno, and inspired me to rethink how you can blend together tracky/functional and more offbeat material to tell a compelling story in a set. this mix throws together a lot of disparate styles to hopefully stitch together something that's equally heady as it is danceable, and also includes a few juicy forthcoming bits from friends & comrades :)"

Having bonded over a particularly nerdy level of obsession over some of our favourite deep techno artists, I've loved watching Amani grow as a DJ - they have played two Animalia events in the past, showcasing their incredible building abilities & class taste from bass to dnb to deep techno & minimal electro cuts. This mix is a sublime continuation of so.. deep, chuggy, bassy rollers.

Back in April I was asked to record a mix for an online music platform that I was really excited about.. but after a turbulent year full of endless twists and turns it unfortunately never ended up being shared.

It’s been sitting on me hard drive ever since but it features an Al Green & Beatrice Dillon blend and if there’s one good thing to have come out of 2020 its that Beatrice Dillon album.

I recorded this around the same time as my Crack Sunday mix came out and wanted the two to go in polar opposite directions of one another. As that one was semi ambient and slow, this one is full throttle, balls to the wall and full of end of the world steppers. 

Might not be the one for your NYE countdown, but if you’re looking for something a bit more crunchy for that kitchen crack on slap it on. x
