Next up on Wirelab, we have Wave Function with a tough warehouse groove, ‘Xe’. Label head CJW is on remix support.

West country-based Scouser Mike aka Wave Function has a long and established DJing career playing around his adopted hometown of Bristol. A fan of Robert Hood and Basic Channel, his studio craft is well-grounded in dubby Detroit sounds.

‘Xe’ is a profoundly engaging sonic journey beginning innocently enough with a tribal groove and potent low end. Gaining pace and layers of tension the break is an oasis of calm surrounded by clattering hats, punchy stabs and FX. On the remix, CJW opts for a darker tone. Building a starkwall of sound from the off, its claustrophobic might punctuated momentarily, and he succeeds in creating a powerful partner in music.

Polish-born and Edinburgh-based DJ and producer, ona:v is the founder of EPiKA and a club night curator. Her imaginative sets earned her loyal following across the UK.

Having honed her mixing skills and built an extensive track collection for several years, ona:v debuted on Edinburgh’s club circuit in 2019, where she remains an active part of the scene today. With a sound that spans dark yet groovy techno, ona:v channels older and lesser-known tracks throughout her DJ sets. As an advocate for equal representation in the electronic music industry, ona:v believes platforming is the best way to increase the proportion of female and non-binary artists and features their tracks in her sets.  

Bookings across the UK make up ona:v’s diary, with gigs from London all the way to Aberdeen. With strong Scottish presence, she shared the booth with biggest names of techno: Ben Klock, SLAM, Randomer, Clouds, ANNE, Fjaak and many more. More recently, she headlined the basement stage curated by Sisu at Hidden Doors — a prolific visual art and music festival in Edinburgh — and performed several times at Edinburgh's Terminal V Festival. Outside of the UK, she played in Poland in Berlin, with two streams from Berlin's HÖR Radio. 

Production-wise, ona:v has released her debut EP on Diffuse Reality Records in late 2022. With plenty more in the pipeline, no doubt we will hear more about her later this year!

Billy Stalin, nombre tan característico. Empezó a los 4 años gustos hacia la cultura electrónica.
Billy reconoció su talento localmente desde el 2014 con Deep House y electro house, etc.
Fue identificando más profundamente cada sonido e influenciándose con el estilo electrónico al detalle de cada uno.

Tiempo después a lo largo del 2010 se puso manos a la obra con la Mezcla desde entonces Billy empezó con sus sets característicos a los 10 años desde entonces y cada vez su acercamiento era más sincero.

En el 2019 dio un giro inesperado a la industria del techno ya que irrumpió en el 2019 con sonidos explícitos y fuertes desde la principal capital del Ecuador (Quito), Capital aclamada como la ''Carita de Dios''. (MITTLE OF EARTH)

ᗷIᒪᒪY TEᑕKᒍүOᑎ quiere llevar la experiencia del deejay a otro nivel experimental, un espacio donde la percepción en los decks... sea una sola (sonido moderno).

Mike Hall aka Wave Funktion is a Bristol based music producer and DJ. As a teen growing up in Liverpool during the late '80s and '90s, the emerging UK rave scene kicked off a lifelong passion in House and Techno. After relocating to Bristol and becoming a serious vinyl addict he began DJing at many underground nights around the city. Dabbling in music production through borrowing friends' studios and synths led to him eventually setting up a small home studio and getting heavily into sound design and electronic music production.
