Been trying to get this right for some time. Still not sure its right, but its okay. We had been talking about what our ancestors would think about how we have treated the earth. The lyrics came first and it started as just my voice. I wanted a bit of drama so added a beat, some piano and some samples to bring it to life.

BAGATELLE

ON|RUST as it appears here on soundcloud is the first stage of a small project that is actually called O|N|RUST consists of this track, plus a Bandcamp version (January 2024 - supplemented with two short pieces for percussion and electronics) and a 2024 small scale vinyl release. I've built a number of rhythmic sound machines especially for this piece which mainly consists of the hum and interference of electrical equipment supplemented with an electric guitar drone. Mastered by Rupert Clervaux.

the title on this song seems fitting today as an american inauguration takes place. hopefully a turbulent, stormy era is subsiding and a new beginning is unfolding on january 20th.
