En tant qu’auteur et citoyen engagé dans la mémoire collective, je souhaite de tout cœur faire parvenir ces vérités historiques au plus grand nombre.
Le devoir de mémoire ne consiste pas à répéter une version simplifiée de l’Histoire, mais à la transmettre dans sa richesse, sa complexité, et sa réalité profonde.
Ce texte est un hommage, mais aussi un acte de vérité.
Car la France n’a pas été libérée par un seul pays, ni en un seul jour.
Elle l’a été par des hommes unis dans l’effort, dans le sang et dans l’espérance.
Et chacun d’eux mérite qu’on se souvienne de lui — exactement comme il a combattu.
🪖 Le 6 juin 1944 — Ce qu’on ne dit pas toujours
Le 6 juin 1944, au petit matin, les plages de Normandie deviennent le théâtre du plus grand débarquement militaire de l’Histoire.
On le nomme aujourd’hui le D-Day, jour décisif du tournant de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Mais ce que l’on retient trop souvent — à tort — c’est une image simplifiée :
celle de l’Amérique héroïque sauvant seule une France à genoux.
Et pourtant, la vérité est plus complexe, plus collective, plus juste.
✅ Qui a débarqué le 6 juin ?
Oui, les troupes américaines ont joué un rôle essentiel, notamment à Omaha et Utah Beach.
Mais elles n’étaient pas seules.
🇬🇧 Les Britanniques ont débarqué par dizaines de milliers à Gold et Sword Beach.
🇨🇦 Les Canadiens ont été les héros de Juno Beach, subissant de lourdes pertes.
🇫🇷 Les Français libres, sous les ordres du commandant Kieffer, étaient là, en première ligne, aux côtés des Britanniques. Ils portaient l’uniforme britannique... mais ils étaient bien français.
🇵🇱 Les Polonais, 🇳🇴 les Norvégiens, 🇧🇪 les Belges, 🇳🇱 les Néerlandais, 🇨🇿 les Tchécoslovaques : ces nations en exil ont aussi participé à l’assaut, par mer, par air, dans les jours et semaines qui ont suivi.
Ils étaient moins nombreux, mais ils étaient présents, courageux, et engagés.
📯 Et la France dans tout ça ?
La France n’était pas absente de sa propre libération.
Des hommes ont combattu au sein des Forces françaises libres.
Certains parachutistes ont été largués en Bretagne dès la nuit du 5 au 6 juin.
Des résistants ont saboté les lignes ferroviaires, les transmissions ennemies.
Les commandos Kieffer, 177 Français, ont débarqué à Sword Beach.
Ils furent les premiers Français à remettre pied sur leur sol occupé, en uniforme, armés, avec l’ordre d’ouvrir la voie.
Il est également avéré que certains Français intégrés aux forces alliées ont été revêtus d’uniformes américains ou britanniques, afin de servir une mise en scène stratégique et politique, renforçant l’image d’une libération orchestrée majoritairement par les forces anglo-saxonnes.
C’était un choix militaire, diplomatique… et médiatique.
🎖️ Une mémoire à rétablir
Non, la France n’a pas été sauvée “par les Américains”.
Elle a été sauvée par un effort collectif, unis dans un combat contre la tyrannie.
Par des hommes de toutes origines, de toutes langues, de tous horizons.
Par des Français, aussi, avec courage et silence, qui ont combattu, saboté, infiltré, libéré.

👉 Ne laissons pas l’Histoire devenir un scénario simplifié.
👉 N’oublions aucune nationalité, aucun soldat, aucun sacrifice.
