Mujō, a profound and ancient concept rooted in Buddhist philosophy, encapsulates the transitory nature of existence. This Japanese term, often translated as "impermanence" or "constancy of change," serves as a reminder of the inherent fragility of life and all temporal things. In a world where everything is in a perpetual state of flux, mujō invites contemplation on the fleeting nature of joy, sorrow, and the very essence of being. 

Mujō's significance extends beyond philosophical musings; it deeply influences Japanese culture and aesthetics. Traditional Japanese art forms like ikebana, wabi-sabi, and haiku often draw inspiration from the concept of mujō. These artistic expressions seek to capture the beauty of the ephemeral, embracing the fleeting moments that define our existence. Thus, mujō serves as a catalyst for finding profound beauty in the transient and mundane. 

Drawing inspiration from the concept of mujō, Zensō’s latest album once again immerses listeners in his distinctive style of ambient-jazz fusion. This musical journey seamlessly melds the tranquil tones of ambient music with the intricate rhythms of jazz, using generative soundscapes and field recordings as the backdrop for elaborate melodic and percussive improvisations.

Here’s a new experimental ambient-jazz piece about impermanence. Musically, I’m once again experimenting with subtly unstable rhythms and vague meters to create a type of “rhythmic dissonance”.

Divya Music is lo-fi meditative atmospheric textures created by two Ukrainian artists. The deep tranquility of these sound meditations will help you disconnect from any problems and worries of the outside world.

NK x is an indie ambient artist from Ukraine. The [Üvás Gøød It] project was created as a search for self in the world of electronic ambient music and field recordings, with a priority on minimal drone. The project includes intuitive improvisation and experiments with digital presets, creating drone music from any melodic source files. The priority of music is atmosphere, immersing the listener deep into consciousness.

Evgeny Bolily is an advocate of Eastern practices. He engages in playing the metallophone (divya), conducting sound therapies, sound healings, and meditations. His goal is to transmit a sense of tranquility and harmony to people, immersing them in the world of sound and nature. The practices he focuses on revolve around mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Those interested can experience the use of sadhu nails and Tibetan singing bowls, "ringing" individuals through their bodies using sound and various techniques.

The Escape (From The Short Film 'Invincible')

Hailing from Belfast, raised in Manchester, and currently residing in the serene Welsh countryside, we welcome Low Altitude to the Whitelabrecs discography with the release of the captivating album ‘Boat’. With a musical journey spanning over three decades, Bruce Magill has evolved from a frontman in local guitar bands to solo work, exploring electronic music as a producer. He has released music with labels such as Criminal Communications, Skinny Dog Records, Supermarket Records, and Mailbox Records.

The decision to step away from music in 2006 was a defining moment, but 2020 provided the perfect opportunity for a creative resurgence; "After a 14-year hiatus from music, I found solace and inspiration during the lockdowns of 2020" shares Bruce. Under his new moniker, the recording sessions led to the creation of ‘Boat’, an album that serves as a profound exploration of tranquility and solitude.

In recent years, Low Altitude’s sonic contributions extended to diverse projects, including the use of tracks from the ‘Waves’ LP in the wellbeing app Syntropy States. His participation in the Sony-sponsored immersive audio compilation, 'Immersive London Calling,' showcased his versatility with Low Altitude ambient tracks and Dub Techno creations under the name 'Seion’.

‘Boat’ is a testament to Bruce’s meticulous creative process. Drawing inspiration from modern minimalism, astral jazz, and movie soundtracks, the album explores emotions anchored by a recurring drone motif. You are invited to join on this sonic voyage, inspired by the sensation of sailing by the light of the moon and the stars. A postcard of a 2022 coastal retreat along the Pembrokeshire coast, Boat captures the essence of nature with encounters with seals, dolphins, and seagulls.

Years ago, a team of researchers intercepted a mysterious signal for the first time. It was unlike anything they had encountered before—an enigmatic frequency that defied all known patterns. Intrigued and puzzled, they set out to trace its origin. Their journey took them deep into the heart of the mountains, where dense forests and rugged terrain made the expedition treacherous.

After days of navigating through the wilderness, they stumbled upon an old, abandoned radio station perched on a remote mountainside. The structure was a relic from a bygone era, weathered by time and neglect. Its rusted antenna stood like a sentinel against the sky, seemingly waiting for their arrival. Inside, the equipment was dusty and covered in cobwebs, yet the signal persisted, emanating from this forgotten place.

The discovery raised more questions than answers. Who had built this station, and why was it abandoned? What was the purpose of the signal, and who or what was sending it? As they delved deeper into the mystery, the researchers realized that uncovering the secrets of the signal might reveal something profound about the nature of communication, isolation, and the unknown.
