Dustin Zahn drops ‘Feed The Fire EP’ ahead of full LP in November.

Active since the late 90’s, Dustin Zahn’s hypnotic and driving techno has consistently caught the ears of top DJs and labels, with releases and remixes on Chris Liebing’s CLR, James Ruskin’s Blueprint, and of course Radio Slave’s Rekids. Alongside his productions, Zahn runs the Enemy Records imprint, having released music from Regal, Truncate, and DVS1 alongside his own music since 2004.

For his latest offering on Rekids, which arrives ahead of his first full length album since 2014, Zahn leads the charge with four direct and expertly constructed techno cuts. Title track ‘Feed The Fire’ makes use of a snaking synth line, evolving in tandem with the sound of classic drum machines atop a pounding 4/4 pattern, while ‘Heresy’ leans towards the twilight hours, with tripped out bleeps, chugging percussion, and deep chords.

On the flip, ‘Profane Purposes’ sees bubbling synthesis alongside raucous claps and vocal cuts, making for a high octane techno bomb before ‘Golden Hour’ closes out the release, lowering the energy levels as twinkling keys, blissful pads, and dusty hats craft a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The mighty DJ Godfather is back with a brand-new album. If you thought last year's 'Electro Beats For Freaks' was a bombshell you'll be blown away by 'This Detroit Thing Of Ours'.

DJ Godfather (Brian Jeffries) is one of the founding fathers of the Detroit Ghetto Tech scene but has gone on to be so much more over a career that spans almost 3 decades. Once again he breaks all the rules. The album features 46 tracks and like his last album, they segue into one another, until the series of EPs on vinyl (and digital) which will follow featuring full-length versions and different mixes of some of the album's tracks.

The third track “What Up” Featuring Parkhouse is an energetic tune with the signature sound that is known for. Delivering a vibrant mix of the Detroit sound and techno. For those wanting an insight into Ghetto Tech, head to track 38, 'It's Ghetto Tech' featuring Dan Diamond which draws a line under the many questions posed to Godfather over the years about the genre.

DnA [re]Sequenced features remixes from artists inspired by Detroit sound and from three places that have impacted Watson's music: Scotland, Amsterdam, and Detroit. Expect to see remixes from none other than Carl Craig, Claude Young, John Beltran, Jon Dixon, Shawn Rudiman, Stephen Lopkin, Steve Rachmad and Stephen Brown. DnA [re]Sequenced will be released November 12th on Bandcamp and November 19th via other major streaming platforms, as well as on vinyl.

6AM features Steve Rachmad's remix of Watson's iconic track, "Second Wave." Rachmad is one of Watson’s closest allies in Amsterdam. They've worked together on many projects over the years, and Rachmad's was the first name on Watson's list. His 4/4 edition of "Second Wave" takes the deep Detroit chords and harmonies into a much darker and groovier direction, with early Transmat character and the funk that Rachmad is known for.

With almost 25 years in the Electronic music industry, Vince Watson has released over 200 EPs, including 12 albums and 75 remixes, and his hard work has been rewarded with recordings for some of the very best electronic music labels like Cocoon, Planet E, Yoruba, Poker Flat, BBE and Transmat as well as running his own Everysoul label. Everysoul Audio was born out of Watson’s Bio Music label as a new home for a new era. Everysoul was formed as the outlet for most of his personal releases and projects, and a way to build a nice home for high-quality music.

Watson's skillsets have allowed him to work with some of the very best electronic artists including Laurent Garnier, Joe Claussell, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Carl Craig, Osunlade, Steve Bug and Josh Wink. As a touring musician, he has also been able to play at some of the world’s best clubs and events including Enter at Space, Ibiza, Berghain Berlin, Womb Tokyo and many events in The Netherlands. Watson also hosts the monthly radio show ‘Radio Drama’ which features top guest from the electronic music world each month. Some examples include Ben Sims, Truncate, Luke Slater, Manoo, Fred P, Steve Bug, Osunlade and many more.

Watson's sets can also be heard in many headline podcasts series, where he has been featured in podcasts from Carl Cox, John Digweed, Dave Clarke, Luciano, DJ Mag, Electronic Beats and Resident Advisor. In late 2020, Watson released an LP for The Outlaw Oceans music project entitled Hope, which was commissioned by the New York Times investigative journalist Ian Urbina and is now in production for Netflix as a documentary series. In addition to his touring schedule and studio commitments, Watson’s experience and knowledge is also being put to use by Conservatorium van Amsterdam where he works as a Senior Degree Lecturer for AEMA, the CvA’s new electronic music school, where he teaches DJ classes, Production classes and Remix classes.

UK techno legend Mark Broom returns to Rekids ahead of new album with ‘100% Juice Album Sampler’.

Following the acclaimed ‘Funfzig LP’ on Rekids in 2021 as well as his ‘Mutated Battle Breaks’ series on the techno focussed sub-label Rekids Special Projects, UK stalwart Mark Broom returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘100% Juice Album Sampler’, a four-track taster for his next album titled ‘100% Juice’, scheduled to be released in April.

Leading the A-side is ‘100% Juice (Sampler Mix)’, a jacked-up take on the album’s title track, with chunky kicks, off-kilter stabs, and crunching claps kickstarting the record. ‘Contigo’ follows, with trippy synths providing a dose of silliness alongside razor-sharp drums. On the flip, ‘Nod To The D’ pays homage to classic Detroit sounds, as light arpeggios and bright synths weave their way through silky pads before closer ‘Spiked’ sees a funk-laden groove take charge as unruly leads flutter atop the jacking groove. 

Releasing on labels such as Rekids, M-Plant, and Blueprint, the wildly prolific Broom has consistently been at the forefront of the techno scene for decades with his gritty, groove-based output while, away from the dancefloor, his The Fear Ratio project with James Ruskin continues to win critical acclaim.
