I am usually not a fan of sharing online the experience of a live set. The emotion, energy and aurea of that moment is something that cannot be grasped with a simple click. 
However, since the moment I touched the decks during this mix, I intuitively knew it was going to be something special… something which I would be happy for those who were not there to partially feel, listen and enjoy. This set includes a selection of my favorite tracks from this year -some older some newer- and all fundamental to create a linear, coherent story.

In der 7. Podcast-Ausgabe stellen wir euch Rill vor: DJ, Produzent aus Berlin und Co-Head des Labels Syntop. Mit verschiedensten Releases, darunter ein aktueller Track für Rødhåds Fabric-Compilation, stellt er seine Produktionsfähigkeiten immer wieder unter Beweis. Sein Sound: zeitlose Techno-Soundscapes mit kreativem Sounddesign, inspiriert vom Techno der frühen 2010er. Rills atmosphärische, perkussive und groovige Track-Auswahl sowie der präzise Einsatz von Synths und Effekten schaffen ein hypnotisches, immersives Erlebnis.
Der Mix wurde am 27.09.24 bei der Neer in Berlin aufgenommen.

INTERVIEW
Du bist Co-Founder und Resident des Kollektivs Syntop, wodurch zeichnet es sich aus?

Wir sind ein Kollektiv aus Freunden, welches sich vor 7 Jahren gegründet hat. Angefangen mit Open Airs in Potsdam, haben wir über die Jahre in verschiedensten Berliner Clubs Partys veranstaltet, Charity Kampagnen organisiert und kuratieren nebenbei eine Podcast Reihe, bei der wir versuchen verschiedenste Genres elektronischer Musik zu bedienen. 
Aktuell bin ich für das Booking und unsere Podcast Reihe verantwortlich, was mir sehr viel Spaß bereitet, da ich dadurch Künstler*innen, die ich mag persönlich kennenlernen und supporten kann.

Deine Tracks werden von vielen und großen Artists gespielt. Was denkst du, schätzen die sie besonders an deiner Musik?

Oft kriege ich das Feedback, dass meine Tracks sehr minimalistisch sind aber dennoch total divers und interessant durch verschiedenste FX Elemente, Noises und atmosphärische Sounds. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass meine Tracks für die Artists oftmals eine kleine Abwechslung bzw. Auflockerung in ihrem Set bewirken.

Gibt es noch unentdeckte Genres oder Stile, die du ausprobieren möchtest?

Tatsächlich habe ich das Gefühl, dass sich mein Techno Musikgeschmack regelmäßig ändert. Mal deep und atmosphärisch, mal reich an Texturen, mal simpler und mal ein wenig schneller und “härter“. Oft spiele ich in meinen Sets auch 1-2 breakige Tracks, um ein wenig aufzulockern.

Rill is a Berlin-based DJ, producer, and co-head of the label Syntop. With multiple releases, including a recent track for Rødhåd’s Fabric compilation, he consistently demonstrates his production talent. His sound is timeless techno, enriched with creative sound design and inspired by early 2010s techno. Rill’s track selection combines atmospheric, percussive, and groovy elements, while his precise use of synths and FX creates a hypnotic, immersive experience.
The mix was recorded on 27.09.24 at the Neer in Berlin.

INTERVIEW
You are a co-founder and resident of the Syntop collective. What distinguishes it?

We are a collective of friends that was founded seven years ago. Starting with open-air events in Potsdam, we have organized parties in various clubs in Berlin over the years, organized charity campaigns, and in the meantime, we curate a podcast series where we try to cover a variety of genres of electronic music. Currently, I am responsible for booking and our podcast series, which I really enjoy because it allows me to personally meet and support artists I like.

Your tracks are played by many and big artists. What do you think they particularly appreciate about your music?

I often receive feedback that my tracks are very minimalist but still totally diverse and interesting due to various FX elements, noises, and atmospheric sounds. I can imagine that my tracks often provide a little variety or lightness in the artists' sets.

Are there any undiscovered genres or styles that you would like to try? 

Actually, I feel that my taste in techno music changes regularly. Sometimes it's deep and atmospheric, sometimes rich in textures, sometimes simpler, and at other times a bit faster and "harder." I often include 1-2 breaky tracks in my sets to add a bit of variety.

Romanian-born and Italian-based DJ, producer and label-head Ketch has carved out a distinctive space in the scene through his dark, texturised grooves laced with tribal, dub and acid elements.
