Many lightyears away, a faint signal is received by an unknown entity.  As the transmission took thousands of years to arrive at the distant galaxy, it is now a distorted recollection of the final moments of humanity as a species.  While the purpose and origin of the signal is unclear, it paints a picture of the horrors of the end of a civilization.

For Adam 2, electronic music has always provided an opportunity for self-discovery, creative exploration, and personal liberation. Since 2016, the Vancouver-based producer and DJ has worn multiple hats in the city’s growing scene, fulfilling the roles of promoter, music curator, and co-founder of Techno label PPRZ.  2020 saw the release of featured mixes on Honcho, Techno Hour of Power, and the creation of Afrofuturism is Now – a mix series amplifying the music of Black artists. In 2022/23 Adam 2 maintained their stride sharing the bill with Carlos Souffront, Shanti Celeste, and Objekt, had high profile performances at Basscoast and Domesicle in Montreal and recently released their debut EP ‘Jungle Dreams’ on Toronto based label Model Future.  As Adam 2’s career gains momentum, they continue to build their reputation by transfixing audiences with evocative, experimental techno that intersects dynamic physicality and playful cerebralism.

Aboutface & The Speaking Eyes Collective present a 2-hour NTS special featuring original collaborative music and art, created in partnership with 7 female survivors of modern slavery and trafficking under the care of Migrant Help UK.The show combines original collaborative music, sound design, field-recordings, with music selections inspired by the participants' cultural heritage, alongside a new poem titled ‘See through me’ in Arabic and English, specially written for this broadcast, translated and recited by Fatima-ezzahra.

All original music and art by The Speaking Eyes Collective: Aboutface, Taro, Syd Hawes and 7 women under the care of Migrant UK’s Modern Slavery Victim Care and Accommodation department.”

Tonight is dedicated to the maverick fox and one of my oldest and best friends, Alex aka ‘Aslam’, who has left his incarnate– The physical world failed you my friend, but the energetic one welcomes you back.

Join me for a 2 hr special on @1btnradio to celebrate the pre-release of my new LP: The Wampís of Guayabal & Aboutface – Los Bosquesinos, a collaboration with @nacionwampis, exploring 4 songs sung from the perspective of animals—living as people do, in communities—experiencing love, loss, and sentient connection.

100% of sales of the gatefold bio-vinyl go directly to the community to help them confront illegal gold miners who are destroying their Amazonian territory, which also impacts the delicate global carbon balance.

I’ll be playing a few songs from the release alongside other music related to Indigenous cosmovision and the rights of non-humans (plants, animals, and spirits) to have the same rights as humans: to live, thrive, and not be treated as a resource to be exhausted or exploited for human gain.
