I lost my journal.
It sounds petty, I know,
But I had finally described the coarse
Colors of the ocean and now
It's as if my eyes have been stripped from me.
I had drafted a love story I could read
In case my own fell through,
And dammit,
It fell hard.
I am not strong enough
To imagine another fiction.
I wrote my first love song
Between reeds and crowded caves;
The memory committed to page is
Forgetting what Free sounds like.
I wrote the name I adored in every way
I could recognize
With the only faith I've ever known,
And I can't convince myself I am better
Without those prayers.
I had measurements and deadlines;
Sketches and lyrics;
Things I needed,
Untidy, but
In some kind of visual unison.
My journal was my affirmation.

I'm afraid of life without its reference point.
Do I trust
Coal-powered tech hubs to do the remembering
For me?
Am I simply heartbroken?
With nothing better to do than blame
A hard-bound pack of pages for being
Too full of ink,
Too far away?
The confidence it gave me is
Fickle in hindsight.

This is loss.
Unforgettable loss.
The other mourning I do
Pines for words from a happier time
To make me feel less lonely.
What coarse color is this now?
Didn't I once know the sea?

I hold the lonely close
And look skyward for new blues.

What's your relationship to money? It's complicated.

On the one hand, capitalism is killing us—our economic system is exploitive to its core. At the same time, we all need to earn a living. How do anti-capitalist feminist folks square our feelings about hating the economic system we live in with our need to feel financially stable, take care of our families, and maybe even buy a house someday? 

On this episode, "Money Feelings," feminist artists, activists, and entrepreneurs discuss their personal relationships to money. The show starts off with social justice educator and artist Roan Boucher, who cofounded the online journal Enough and now works for the worker co-op AORTA. Then, Refinery 29 senior features writer Ashley C. Ford joins us to talk about the lasting impacts of growing up poor. Prolific author Michelle Tea lays down some real talk about her path from railing against the world to figuring out how to live in it. And, finally, the hosts of the popular podcast Criminal talk about the finances of turning their dream creative endeavour into a stable business.

عن الأغنيّة: "ما بتغيّرني" هي دعوة للمواجهة والتحدّي؛ مواجهة كل ما يدفعنا إلى الخوف والعزلة، والعنف المستمرّ الناجم عن تجاربنا الكويريّة أو المثليّة.  

عن الفنّان: بشّار مراد كاتب أغاني، مغنّي، وصانع فيديو من القدس. ينتج بشّار أغانيه بالعربيّة والإنجليزيّة، ويركّز في أعماله على تحدّي الصّور النمطيّة والمعايير الاجتماعيّة القامعة.


عن المشروع: انطلق "غنّي عن التعريف" عام 2013، بإصدار الألبوم الأوّل الذي يحوي مجموعة أغاني متنوّعة تحاكي مواضيع التعدديّة الجنسيّة والجندريّة، والجنسانيّة بشكلٍ عام. لاقت الأغاني منذ إذٍ حتّى الآن صدىً كبيرًا والكثير من الرّواج، حيث سمعها عشرات الآلاف من الفئات المختلفة وعلى منصّات متنوّعة.
نعود في العام 2018، بعد الكثير من الإنجازات والتغييرات في عملنا، مع مزيد من الظّهور والوصول في المجتمع الفلسطيني، ومع قرار بأن يكون الإنتاج الموسيقي الكويري والجنساني مستمرًا، بحيث نطلق أغنيّة جديدة كلّ فترة ضمن المشروع ذاته، ومع حرص ووعي تامّ بتنوّع خلفيّات الفنّانات/ين وتجاربهم.
غنّي عن التعريف يجمع أغانٍ ولدت لتتحدى الحدود وترفض المفروض، كُتبت لتسأل أسئلة جديدة ولُحّنت لتنشد صورة لمجتمع أفضل نصبوا إليه. غنّي عن التعريف سيتناول موضوعات مختلفة، نابعة من صلب تجاربنا وقصصنا التي تتراوح ما بين تلك الجميلة والأخرى المؤلمة.
غنّي عن التعريف هو حكايتنا الموسيقيّى التي نودّ مشاركتكم بها بحبّ وسعادة.

عن القوس: القوس للتعدّديّة الجنسيّة والجندريّة في المجتمع الفلسطينيّ هي مجموعة من الناشطات والناشطين من المِثْليّات، والمِثْليّين، وثنائيّي الميول الجنسيّة، ومتحوّلي النوع الاجتماعيّ، والمتسائلين وأشخاص يعيشون توجّهات جنسيّة وجندريّة مختلفة، وأصدقائهم. القوس هو حيّز مفتوح وذو قاعدة شعبيّة واسعة يستوعب ويتلقّى ويحتوي ويتفاعل ويُشْرِك في الجهود والطاقات التي تهدف إلى خلخلة أنظمة القمع الجنسيّ والجندريّ، وأدوات السيطرة على الجسد والجنسانيّة، من النظام الأبويّ والرأسماليّ إلى الاستعماريّ، وإعادة تشكيل علاقات القوّة الناتجة عنها للمساهمة في خلق مجتمع يحوي توجُّهات جنسيّة وجندريّة متنوّعة.
