This week we return to Chile to welcome @armanguerrero, a veteran of the scene in that country’s second city, Valparaiso. 

Armando Guerrero is an Argentinian DJ/producer whose first productions were in drum & bass but whose musical journey landed him in the sphere of progressive house. His first prog EP, “Closed Circle”, came out in 2014.

His sound keeps evolving and enjoys the support of DJ’s such as Hernán Cattaneo, Soundexile, Fernando Ferreyra, Nick Varon, Cream among others. He has played mixes on Frisky and Proton.

His mixing is utterly rhythmic, harmonic and experimental, and his unique touch has led him to be sought out for EP’s and remixes on labels from around the world such as Massive Harmony, Stellar Fountain, Balkan Connection, BC2 Records, AH Digital, Balkan Connection South America, Spring Tube Label, Nube Music, Estribo, Mystic Carousel. 

Armando currently lives in Viña del Mar, in the Valparaiso metro area (Chile’s second city), and plays live events at various locations and events in the area including Antuset Arrayan Sunsets, Club Aruma, Terraza Mimi, Terraza Bellavista, Club Oasis, Sunstrip, and others.

He’s considered to be a versatile DJ that knows how to adapt to his audiences; his style is best described as Progressive Tribal Techno.

It's something of an understatement to say that Paul Sawyer has firmly stamped his mark within the electronic music scene. Over the last three decades he has never stopped working, and now boasts a catalog that includes originals and remixes on storied labels such as Perfecto Records, Pure Progressive, Black Hole Recordings, Armada, Toolroom and many more, including his own highly respected Krafted Underground imprint. Few artists have such a long career; fewer still operate at such a high level of consistency and creativity.

Celebrating this landmark anniversary, Paul Sawyer will release 30 Years a DJ on 17th February 2023: a thirty track collection of original productions and remixes from a truly remarkable career. To coincide with the release, Paul is also set to host this 30 hour radio show on DI.FM Progressive.

W&DY is an Amsterdam-based DJ and producer who takes her listeners on a joyful journey with her sensitive & bold flows.
W&DY combines elements of progressive house with organic, techno & atmospheric sounds and emphasis on melodies & dirty baselines.W&DY is part of the Movement Bookings (GR) talent roster, alongside artists such as Alex O'Rion, Hobin Rude, LORRAÎNNE, Paul Anthonee, Tash, and other gifted producers.
In 2022, W&DY was invited by Club NL to host its own club night, and thus AMPERSAND was born. AMPERSAND is a 6-hour event filled with beautiful gems, feel-good melodies, and dirty basslines where people can feel, heal, and connect. Shares the night with guests she adores like Tash & Miss Dominguez..on AMPERSAND we love to surprise & create a range of emotions and feelings for our listeners, a unique and immersive musical experience.
W&DY's latest project is part of LIA: Ladies I Admire, an inspiring initiative by Amber Long that empowers talented women in the music industry worldwide.
In 2010, it was the nightlife scene of Greece that understood the soul of progressive music. From this moment on W&DY discovered her passion for progressive house music. It felt magical back in the day & it's still magical.In 2011, she released her first track, "Voices Of Patton," with Stage by H and Tash, who taught her to produce, and the release immediately made it to Hernan Cattaneo's charts. Since then, W&DY has had great experiences playing alongside artists such as Guy J, Pole Folder, Matias Chilano, Dimitri, Clay van Dijk a.o, and has performed at prestigious venues such as Paradiso, RLGC, La Rocca, and Café d'Anvers, to name a few. Alfredo Ahnert and Hector Kotsifakis are two Mexican professional actors who are also being best friends since the young age of 12. HAFT, the Iranian duo of Sam Nasehi and Amir Subb, are known for fusing hypnotic synths, deep- rooted pads, and intricate percussion into a sound that bridges traditional textures with modern progressive house. Their debut three-track EP on Balance Music delivers a journey filled with psychedelic undercurrents and shimmering atmospheres that is crafted equally for the dance floor and for deep listening.

The brooding ‘Driftor’ is designed to nudge any DJ set in the right direction. An off-beat bass drives the engine, allowing you to comfortably sit in the pocket of its inviting narrative. Steely drums and percussion form a cohesive frame, while a bag of tasteful effects, samples, and stabs fill the remaining spaces. Once the breakdown hits, in all its subtlety, you know you’re in the hands of professionals. This is essential prog, designed for any occasion.

There is an undercurrent of psychedelia running through ‘Myntal’, hypnotic and consuming. Low- end frequencies double as notes, merging with the bass to create a dizzying effect. Its main-room identity, however, is confirmed by drums that strut forward with propulsive energy. It all points towards a seductive breakdown, its layering teasing a drop that confirms it: this is designed for floors ready to ignite.

Filled with depth, ‘Prism’ shimmers and shakes as synths and stabs perpetually morph. The result is a continuous stream of sonic moments to lose yourself in. Thankfully, the dense bassline and drums bring you back from the edge of hypnosis, filling the space with an elastic energy as buoyant as a trampoline. Then comes the breakdown: bells dissolve into minor-key haze, half beautiful, half surreal: an inviting dream-logic that is hard to deny.

Alain M.'s weekly podcast, Ottawa Prog Vibes, is now in its 7th year and is a recognized presence among Canadian Electronica shows. The show has two goals: showcase progressive DJ's from Ottawa (and Canada) to a global audience, and bring international DJ guests to an Ottawa (and Canadian) audience). 

Alain plays three out of every 10 shows. His mixing has been noted as particularly creative and smooth, a skill that allow his sets to be experienced as seamless stories.

An offshoot series, called Mellow Prog Vibes, is released every two weeks and focuses on more chill vibes, slightly more downtempo, to create a more relaxed vibe. It is curated by OPV resident DJ Boraa, who plays every other episode, with guest DJs playing the alternate.

Ottawa Prog Vibes and Mellow Prog Vibes are broadcast weekly on UK's Saturo Radio, New York's Chill Lover Radio and Ottawa's Blast the Radio.


ABOUT ALAIN M.

Alain M. started dj’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs, big and small, in Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. From teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his 30+ years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. His live events, organized only a few times annually, are a hypotonic, transformational experience for attendees, putting the Nation’s Capital on the map for electronic music. He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday and Expeditions, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online outlets. He is a resident on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium). He was a monthly resident on Abyss Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio in 2021 and on UK-based Beach Radio between 2021 and 2024.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s Afterhour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.
