Her sound is textured, kaleidoscopic & unearthly - full of surprises but somehow always warm & inviting.  She has been an exciting artist to watch blossom in recent times. A. perfect fit for the Animix series.

The tunnel is a magical stage and im very grateful to have been asked to play the Saturday late afternoon set, before one of my biggest electronic-music inspirations, voices from the lake. I took the opportunity, considering the impeccable programming, open minded crowd, and perfect soundsystem to play a more slow building, delicate festival set - which felt very true to my real taste, and an homage to many of my deepest and longest standing inspirations. Next up in our mix series is Bambi, hailing from Paris and resident at the French underground institution Macadam, on Rinse France waves, and at Berlin’s Hypersoft party series and our good friends from Paris, Hors-Sol. Bambi has made a name for herself in France and abroad thanks to her nuanced, cosmic sets fuelled with trance, dub and deep techno influences. Beyond the decks, she also promotes safer party spaces within the French initiative Reinvent The Night, and contributes to French reflexive laboratory Au-delà du club (Beyond the Club) through their collaborative zine Flashes: words and images to reinvent the night.

For this mix, Bambi takes us on a proper trip, skillfully building tension and seamlessly rising in vitality. Starting through ambient vibrations, gradually introducing layers of rhythm and escalating intensity. Building and weaving a tapestry of flowing sounds, airy textures and elegant oomphs - ending in summery euphoria. Warm and delicate, as a night under the open sky.

The jewelry released with this mix is inspired by Priori’s fascination with labyrinths. Priori feels like mazes and labyrinths were omnipresent in youth literature and movies but hey rarely encounter them in culture these days.

Welcoming the lovely Refuge Worldwide co-founder and dub-master @richard-akingbehin to the Animix series this week, with a beautiful journey of minimal house infused with his signature dub styles.

Clear in his DJ'ing, but also his work with @refugeworldwide, and his immaculately curated label, @kynant-records, Richard is an all-round classy selector, and a champion of community. Through his various outputs, his deep & considered knowledge and taste shines. 

Richard always impresses me with the diversity of moods he presents via his DJ'ing, hybrid collaborations with legend Tikiman, b2bs with other legends like livwutang, and his label - a diversity that's always strung together with his incredibly distinctive psychedelic, soothing dub formula.

For the 30th Herbarium we are proud to present two special guests - @bambi__dj and @beatricem._bait. They brought a trippy dubby journey to the table, loaded with unique sound design and spacious grooves. We love the feeling when every detail sits in the right place as in their selection of tracks and elements. This creates an insanely immersive effect and hunger for more. Bambi and Beatrice M. chose the plant Mint (mentha) for their mix. 🌿

Here’s some insight about why they chose their plant: 
Bambi and Beatrice M.’s musical palettes intersect in a very specific zone, with some key words like psychedelia and dub. This can apply to the club interface, but as the summer surfs by, their need for freshness and a soothing soundtrack for the season translates in this mix’s selections. Therefore the choice of plant felt pretty intuitive : mint. A plant that stimulates several senses at once : its vivid green evokes lushness and renewal, its scent is sharp, almost cleansing, and its taste - cool, tingling, slightly sweet - lingers like an echo… Just like their selections, mint stands at a sensory crossroads - refreshing the body, teasing the mind, and awakening something just beneath the surface. 𖧧

About Bambi & Beatrice M.

Beatrice M. and Bambi are two french DJs who met through intersecting music circles, which is what their duo is all about. Take a venn diagram with on one side, Bambi’s library ranging from deep techno to trance to house to triphop, and on the other side Beatrice M. with mainly dub and dubstep. The crossing point of the two circles is always somewhat a little dubby, a little psychedelic, sprinkled with friendship and fun.
