DJ Recognize (Jeff Poyzner) [Fast Forward, Red Monkey] got back into mixing tracks in 2017 after a long hiatus since his raver days. He has organized a ton of events in San Francisco nightclubs and outdoor areas, spun with many crews, and has been known to play a variety of genres including various types of House and DnB. In 2024, he has begun to produce tracks again with a dedication to creating great dance music for all to hear!

Welcome to my SoundCloud page, how nice of you to stop in! 

I was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area and feel lucky to be residing in SF in an especially lush and fertile environment for electronic music culture at this moment. Lately I've been mixing deep house, tech house, minimal..... but as always, tracks are whatever I find atmospheric, well produced, and/or have a certain vibe/groove.  When I hear a track for the first time, my jaw hits the floor and I yell "WTF is THIS?!?" ...that's the track I want to play, all of the time! :-D

In 2003 I started playing vinyl with the intention of mixing and DJing.   I switched to CDJs in 2010 -  vowing never to travel to the desert with records again - which was becoming a yearly phenomenon.              
As much as I was loathe to abandon the vinyl format, the realization that vinyl is not environmentally sustainable, that I would be able to collect more music, and support more artists by moving to digital solidified my conviction.  

I always ID tracks on my mixes I post to the best of my ability, and take care to keep notes during any session - whether it's in the bedroom or playing out live - for the purpose of crediting artists and passing on the enjoyment of great music to the listener.  I hope you enjoy some of the music that moves me.   And, please, please support the artists we love by purchasing their tracks!  :)

You will find several tracks repeated in the mixes I post, which is unorthodox. I broadcast a live DJ set most Tuesday mornings ( Brunch With Pwny on www.mixlr.com/pwny ) and gig actively. I have tracks that survive the test of time and when it's the right time to use an older track, I will do so. Most mixes I post now are recordings of the live broadcast or of a gig.

Since grade school, Avira has been immersed in choir, dance, and the world of music. Her love affair with electronic music took root on the pulsing dance floors of underground raves, eventually leading her to the transformative world of conscious dance. With roots in both rave & festival culture as well as conscious dance spaces, Avira possesses an eclectic and expansive range.

Avira curates her sets with an intuitive blend of celebration, soulfulness, and emotional depth. As a cross-genre artist, she crafts immersive sonic landscapes that resonate with diverse audiences -whether bringing vibrant, bass-heavy, and festival-driven frequencies to a party crowd or inviting deep, soulful embodiment within intimate conscious dance spaces. 

Her music has been described as a luscious blend of dynamic, whompy, vibrant, world, bass, and house music - designed to move not only the body but also the heart and spirit. Whether her sets are high-energy celebrations or more contemplative journeys, Avira’s versatility allows her to serve a wide range of communities - always emphasizing joy, radical self expression, and love.

Music has always been at the core. I had a bit of muscal training early on, but it was the Bay Area rave scene that really shaped me - the nights that went 'til sunrise, the sounds that didn’t fit anywhere else, the feeling of being fully lost in it.

I’ve been producing and DJing for over two decades, across a wide range of genres: ambient, deep house, breaks, techno, drum & bass — whatever tells the story. I came up as part of a house music collective, playing countless underground events, always chasing the feeling that only a perfectly timed track can deliver.

There was a long break in the 2010s, but since returning I’ve been reconnecting with the craft in a deeper way. Some recent tracks have gotten real love, and people have been resonating with the sets again — the flow, the selection, the sense of journey.

I’m not here to follow trends. I’m here to move people.

Love My Robot is the new project from Colombian music and tech strategist Carolina Castilla. At once danceable and densely conceptual, Love My Robot combines Castilla’s passion for techno, electro, Gqom and Cumbia music with incisive, ultra-relevant commentary on the endless possibilities and frightening pitfalls of AI machine learning.

Footprintsound.com NUGZ or Brian Cox, one of the first DJs to perform on a Boeing 747, began his career in music when he acquired a Fisher Price turntable at the age of 5. He started making “pause button” mix tapes from songs on the radio at the age of 10, and got on a set of Technics 1200 MK2 turntables a few years later. He now has over 24 years experience in the booth playing for millions of party people. Blodip says he’s the best he’s ever heard. His stellar sets are amazing, incredible mind blowing magic for your ear holes. His parties are a shitton of fun. His ability to not get distracted is beyond human. NUGZ is about toeing the line between light and dark, positive and negative, existence and non existence. Think yin and yang on two platters and this DJ is the bridge. He takes you on a journey, continuously comes correct with phenomenal sets and uncanny consistency. A true disc jockey in every sense of the word.
While living in Boulder, CO in the 90s, NUGZ gained two distinct achievements. He acquired residencies at Soma in Boulder (voted as one of the top ten clubs in America by BPM and several other dance music publications ), and the number one club in Colorado at the time, Vinyl (formerly 1082 Broadway in Denver). He consistently played with profound success at both of these clubs until they closed, along with numerous others in the Denver /Boulder area while still at a very early point in his career.
NUGZ moved to San Francisco in 2004, and when he isn’t traveling the world, or building art for Burning Man (DJ'd for last 16 yrs), he can be heard performing in prominent SF nightspots such as The Great Northern, Public Works, Mezzanine, Yoshi’s, and the legendary 1015 Folsom. Corporate clients include Adobe, Dianese, Wells Fargo, Facebook, and AOL. He made his mark creating late night underground soirees at a special little space know as “123”, with his production company Footprint Sound. These are still regarded by true nightlife professionals as some of the best parties in SF. He continues to produce weekly and monthly events all around the bay, and during these late nights and early mornings he shares the booth with the likes of The Stanton Warriors, Donald Glaude, Modeselektor, Tycho, Martin Buttrich, Deekline, Audiofly (a performance in his loft, 123 was their first SF show) to name a few.
He is able to blend drastically different beats from all sorts of genres, tell a story, and create a sound/vibe that are truly his own. A risk taker who owns it, works in heavy, moving, melodic basslines, with unexpected builds and drops, sometimes dirty sometimes bouncy, seamless transitions from house to slowed down breaks and back again.  Incorporating custom re-edits and remixes, the more bangin’ selections under cover of darkness revolve around House and UK Nu Skool Break Beat sounds, that range from deep, melodic, sexy, to dark, dirty, nasty, funky, grindy, techy, electro. In day light hours, you might find him spinning trip hop, down tempo, mid tempo and classic hip hop, along with sexy deep house and funk all over the bay area at places like bars, lounges, back yards, yachts, pools, rooftops, houseboat rooftops, small islands, basements, lofts/ warehouses, art galleries, Breakfast of Champions, Bay to Breakers, The SF Marathon, campouts, sidewalks, planetariums, Decompression, SF Pride Parade, the Golden State Warriors championship parade in Oakland, or Golden Gate Park. He is currently the sound engineer and resident DJ for the Dusty Rhino burning man mobile art piece where he is also a founding member.
