Closing sets come with built-in pressure. But at this year’s Perpendicular Festival, Saturday wrapped up not with spectacle, but with style. Valencia-based DJ and producer Facundo, a standout discovery from the city’s ever-surprising scene, took control of the final stretch with a set that was patient, fluid, and full of character. It moved with intent, keeping the energy alive without ever pushing too hard. The kind of set that made you forget the time, anchored in rhythm and shaped by subtle shifts. A groove that spoke softly but hit deep.

Facundo’s approach to the closing slot was a slow reveal. He opened with broken, syncopated patterns before sliding seamlessly into a tight four-to-the-floor pulse. The tension built with restraint - dark, shadowy techno moments came and went, but the release was never forced. This was a set that traded hype for nuance, showmanship for control. Polyrhythmic elegance in the woods.

Delayed x Perpendicular: Facundo

Fresh off the release of his outstanding album ‘Berlin’ we welcome Felix K - a true purveyor of sophisticated, deep electronic music. His work explores the fringes of techno, jungle, dub, and ambient, building immersive sound worlds that defy easy categorization. Known for his meticulous approach to production and his ability to weave complex narratives through sound, Felix K has carved out a unique space for himself in the global underground scene.

For this marathon journey, Felix K delivers a masterclass in patience and precision, guiding listeners through a three-hour odyssey that is as introspective as it is rhythmically compelling. The mix is a testament to his expansive musical knowledge and his ability to connect seemingly disparate genres into a cohesive, flowing narrative.

In his own words: "The mix was recorded in my studio in Berlin. Beginning with slower Dub Techno, it slips into the early, minimalist 85/170 Drum-and-Bass era, showcasing plenty of those formative highlights before closing with authentic Amen Breaks combining with a sound design that actually anticipates the vibe of some of today’s darker techno productions."

MNMT 481 : Felix K

Yesterday night the full moon was shining in all its glory, and I was lucky to be enjoying the outdoors taking a weekend off clubbing. Maybe this is why this months episode of Selene Series, number 61, started off as an attempt to select some introspective breaky music. 

I love small sounds in big spaces. I feel that there is a lot of drum and bass, half-time, breaks, call it as you want music that channels that concept. Airy atmospheres and super precise, razor sharp percussions. That was the concept of the mix, at least at the start. But hey, often things get out of control and full on psychedelic craziness manifests... Nevertheless, this is how it turned out. For moments introspective, for moments not so much.

Iron opening set

For our next installment, we’re honoured to welcome ABSIS back to the series with a stunning recording of his all-vinyl hybrid DJ set at this year’s Perpendicular Festival.

Equipped with an ISO420 mixer, Pulsar-23, H90 FX, three turntables, and a crate full of heavyweight rhythms, ABSIS delivered a beautifully crafted dub session that warmed the dancefloor on Saturday morning.

Kamran Sadeghi is a composer, record producer, interdisciplinary artist, and curator based in New York City. His work incorporates sound art, multi-channel composition, architecture, moving image, modular synthesis, and field recordings. This layered practice explores the intersection of interior and exterior worlds—physical, cultural, and psychological. He has collaborated with Zimoun, Patti Smith, Ellen Allien, Nan Goldin, and Matthew Herbert, with solo and collaborative presentations at CTM Festival, The Louvre, Berghain, Centre Pompidou, and Volksbühne.

Finite space, holding infinite expansion,
unaware of where
only stillness becomes movement

Rising, breaking, scattering
when I reach the entrance of an endless maze,
my palms slowly lose their light

The light cannot vanish
it streams like a transparent river
scattering, far away

Emptiness bursts like stars, spreading out
and in the debris
I grope for a nameless direction

At the end of the endless maze,
a slow shimmer scatters,
remnants that even light could not lose
drift into transparency

Stained by fragments of that scattering
I still walk, chasing the finite
never arriving anywhere
