I did a journey mix back 2019 and wanted to do another. This one, like the first, spans a range of styles and has new and old favourites. This time, I've kept it around the 160bpm tempo. Enjoy :)

Incoming with 90mins of Soulful Jungle for day two of the Mix Drop is Lubi J !

Based in Cardiff, the Headspace resident started off mostly playing soulful/liquid dnb back in 2000 and was heavily influenced by Fabio’s liquid funk and artists like Calibre, Carlito and Addiction, Bukem. In recent years she’s become more immersed again in the darker breaks and beats of jungle, drawing from labels like Function, Rupture, Samurai, AKO and Repertoire.

For her debut Certain Sounds mix she's drawn for a selection inspired by those early 2000's vibes but with a whole heap of modern Soulful Jungle tunes thrown in for good measure!

The Irish dj/producer was a resident at Dublin's legendry Bassbin events and has released tracks on renowned labels such as Subtle Audio, Inperspective, Counter Intelligence, Breakin' and Make:shift.
A regular on the airways, he's been part of the Power FM since '98 and hosts his ''2ndrate Show'' on the station every 2 weeks as well as his ''Skeptic Tank'' sessions which air on Jungletrain every fortnight, the show has featured guest mixes from the likes of DgoHn, Profane and Frankie Gunns to name a few!

Bringing a little twist to his mix with most of the tracks coming from DgoHn's Undesignated Proximate & Undesignated Remixes albums, expect drums, drums and more drums in this selection!

Made up of Speaks & Ruff Tactics the British duo based on the East Coast of Australia who have been turning heads since 2011 with their signature "rough and smooth" brand of jungle and drum & bass.

Fast forward to 2023 and Tactical Aspect can proudly say they have music released on the legendary Reinforced Records as well as further appearances on DJ Trace's 117 imprint, AKO Beatz, Skeleton and Criterion to name a few.  2023 will see a host of upcoming releases on some familiar labels, as they keep busy in the studio it seems nothing can stop the duo from becoming one of Australia's finest exports.

Episode 501 brings us an all vinyl mix from stateside producer/dj, Floppi J!

Floppi's mix combines tunes both old, newer, and some of his own productions! He goes from Jungle to Hardcore and back to Jungle with this one, showcasing fantastic track selection and setting it off with a wicked vibe on this mix!! 

Let's meet our dj for episode 501, Floppi J:

1.Tell us about dj gigs and releases you have coming up:

 I have two releases coming on PPJ Recordings. A dubplate which should be dropping in a few weeks and one tune on a vinyl single. As far as DJ gigs, me and some friends throw local raves at undisclosed locations in both the woods and caves. Our next rave will feature Dj Keegs, Johnny Too Bad, and Psychical provided they are able to make it.

2. Talk to us about your record label, F.P. Recordings:

 My goal with FP Recordings is to put out obscure sounding 91 – 94 style hardcore and jungle. I use a homemade record lathe to cut poly-carbonate dubs and I’m also looking into pressing vinyl. I also have a sub label “Secret House Records” for techno, house, and other more experimental stuff.

3. Use your best guess, no interwebs assistance, how many McDonald's are in the US?

I’d say there are at least 3 McDonald’s in the United States.
