I can't remember the first time I heard this song, but I do know I have listened to it maybe 500 times since then...even when I was young (and likely before I could even connect emotionally) I could "feel" something different when I heard this song. I would later have many life experiences that would remind me of this song over the years and thought it was past time for me to make my own version. I really hope you enjoy iy as much as I enjoyed singing it!

My first pass at a one take studio recording of Gary Allen's "The One"

This one was recorded for my one and only MOMMA. Today (the day of upload) marks her 61st. birthday and her 19th anniversary follows in 3 days. When my Step Dad started dating my mom when I was barely a teenager, I recorded a music video for them to this song. It was one of their absolute favorites and every time I hear it I think of them and the Love they show each other and the ones around them. I am so very grateful to have such a great example of what it looks like to walk through life with dignity and grace and I am so proud to call my Mom, well MOM! Thank you will never cover what she has done for me in all aspects of my life, but I hope this is one of many small gifts to remind her how much she means to me! This one, even more than all the others, is for you Momma and I love you most! And thank you to each and every one of you who has joined my journey to this point. I can't wait to see where life takes me next!

The One (One Take Studio Session)

This was a tough one, indeed. My father passed away about a month before starting to record this, but really felt compelled to do so. For those of you who know me, my relationship with my father was not always easy. But I do know I love him so much and he loved me too. Reflecting over the last few weeks about all of the times we had, I have found it hard to put into words just how I feel. As usual, speaking thru music has been and will hopefully continue to be very healing. I am so grateful for the time I had with my father and cannot wait to see him again one day. I love you Dad.

For any of you who knows me personally, this was a very tough one to record. Addiction and Alcoholism run very deep in much of my family (including myself) and I currently am in the thick of another such "struggle". My mom (God bless her) suggested I sing this weeks ago, but today was the day to sit down and finally do it. Really happy with how it turned out, even if I am still not where I want to be on the editing side of things :). Enough rants, thanks for listening and remember IT'S OK TO ASK FOR HELP NO MATTER WHAT. YOU ARE NOT WEAK AND YOU CAN DO IT!

THANK YOU for stopping in and supporting my love of making quality "live" music from many of the artists I look up to for inspiration. As a rule, I don't edit or auto-tune my vocals in any way, and most songs are even recorded in one take. My goal is to deliever a performance rather than just a song...to be able to hear the inflections of emotion as I feel them. This is when I feel most connected to my favorite artists...I hope to do the same!
