Here's a tonal nugget we came 'Ear to Ear with' during a mid-November 'Living Room' Session whilst improvising.                             

Tim was playing his Attila Custom guitar, and i was on his Ancient Upright Grand Piano.  As we approached the tonal center that came within earshot from various angles during our conversation, and i think we found a lovely thread that sewed it all together into a larger Whole.

It has been some time... I have had a jaw procedure and if I do not exercise it, the surgery is in vain. This creates more pain in the jaw and neck and I did not practice my violin for months.

What Was I Made For? was done some time ago. However, events recently changed my ideas on the movie Barbie. While I never considered myself a feminist per se, I encountered recently the difficulty women, especially minority women, face in many fields.. Though I do not consider myself very high, a few men began to abuse, bully, sabotage me in Spotify. This will happen in all fields, but I feel especially vulnerable because it is an art form. Bullying stifles creativity..The point is we should not be treated as property. Double standards because if we stand up for ourselves, we are deemed 'aggressive'. I play the piano because it is where I let go of the have-to’s, and become part of something larger than myself. The language I speak on the keyboard when I improvise expresses a part of me that only comes out there at the moment of creation - when I’m fully connected and in the flow. In those moments when I disappear in the music, those are where I’m most fully alive. The musical question I pose to myself when I play is largely this: how can I release my inhibitions and let go of patterns sufficient to bring something entirely new, unexpected, and enlightening into the world, with structure, precision, clarity, and depth of expression. These pieces are meditations that are of me, but more precisely, they come through me. When I’m in the flow, I’m channeling the energy and only moderately directing it. The challenge is to be open to take risks while maintaining a structure, melody, and tempo that makes it interesting and satisfying enough to keep listening. I keep doing this nightly because it’s a language, because it’s a connection to something greater than myself, and because it’s very very relaxing.
